Horrible experience! We bought the day time and the gravestones tour. The first one the back speakers didn’t work and the guy had a thick accent from another country, so we could not understand anything he was saying. Then when we went to hop on the next one, they were full and he said another one was coming shortly He called him to let him know we were waiting for him. When he pulled up, he went past the stop and a bunch of other people walked up and got on ahead of us. He told us we would have to wait until the next one. We said we had been walking there before all the others who just walked up. He then counted and said there were 5 seats left and asked the group of 4 if they wanted them. Again, I said, we were there waiting from the last trolley. He said sorry. He should have asked us, group of 5 to get on instead of asking the others since we said we had been waiting since the previous one. The people then asked us if we wanted to get on instead of them. Yes! Then, we came 45 minutes early to get the back row so the 5 of us could sit together. We told them that and they told us where to stand in line to get on first. But, then said they were letting a group of 14 on ahead of us and they were putting them in the back rows. So we had to sit in 3 different rows. 1 by themselves. Extremely wrong. And, we could not see any of the graves because it...
Read moreSeeing how we LOVE the st Augustine old trolleys I figured this would be the best choice for getting around Boston but it was a hassle and a mess. The stop closest to our hotel only ran from 9-11 am so once the trolley stopped running at 5pm you were SOL & on your own. The tours were long, and even longer wait times to even get on IF there was room for you. Traveling took up the entire day just trying to get from place To place. Hambone (I think) swore the Boston tea party museum was open until 5pm but please be warned it closes at 4! And we missed it. Just trying to get there took is from 2:30 until 4:45 ish and It was the only thing I wanted to do this trip. They closed the next two days so we couldn’t even save it for another day. The booths for this trolley which is where we bought the tickets did not DO REFUNDS so we can’t even get our money back for the tour until we email in and request it. However Webly made up or entire experience and I am so happy we stuck it out and tried the trolleys again. He was the best guide! Extremely helpful, willing to make room for Everyone, and helped us get back to stop 18. He was also the easiest to understand & Informative. St Augustine is a way batter trolley experience for travel but if you want all the history the and only want to do a 90 minute tour this might me...

Bad news... If the trolly is full they'll just leave you, and now that I've read thru reviews, I suspect a fair number of the trollys get full between 4-5pm. Some stops (likely those in construction zones, like stop 11 at the library) are poorly marked or not marked and if the driver who drops you doesn't spell out where you'll get picked up you might end up jogging your 83 year old mother up half a long block after the bus. And then get turned away. Had three guides over the course of the day- one was unbearably loud, one was a mumbler and the third was ok- not great but ok.
If you're fit and able to walk, buy a Rick Steves walking tour and enjoy the city with a high quality guide. If mobility is an issue, get on the trolley one time and don't get off- just treat it like a tour. If you do plan to get off, try to tour in the first half of the day before they get full. Download Uber and prepare a backup plan. We had to Uber back to the hotel after getting turned away by a trolley at 4:30- the odds of the next one not being full seemed slim and the drivers sure aren't paid enough to care who they were leaving behind. The Uber was $11, air conditioned and fast- it got a...
