Cardullo's Gourmet Shoppe — Local services in Boston

Looking for a quick bite after a movie, and husband suggested a sandwich place near his old office that he hadn't been to in a while, but remembered enjoying. Cardullo's did not disappoint! I got the chicken parm sub, and the bread, chicken cutlet, and cheese were top notch. The sauce could have had a bit more flavor, but overall the sandwich was fantastic. My husband had the Reuben and loved it. My friend had the Pilgrim, and thought the stuffing was the only weak point as it had too much of an herb which made it overpower other parts of the sandwich. However, this was not enough to ruin the sandwich, and she still found it to be delicious. While we were waiting for the food, we explored the rest of the shop. We didn't buy anything else, but I will definitely go back in the future to purchase the unique candies, snacks, and specialty items they have from England and other countries which you won't find in a typical grocery store here. I regret not asking where they get their bread! Store was also very clean, and staff were helpful...

I live a block away and called the shop at 8:55 PM. I explained that I would rush over now to buy a few bottles of wine and asked if they could stay open until 9:05. They said no and that they have to close at 9:00 PM. I have worked in retail and if customers called asking me to stay open later - even if it was 10-minutes later, I always would and that’s what we were taught to do. The shop itself has a very nice selection of food and wine. Due to the fact that the shop is a bit expensive, I would expect better customer service. We only asked that they stay open for 5-minutes longer, and it would have been a guaranteed purchase of several bottles of wine....
