Night Star Convenience — Local services in Boston

I dont have words to describe the high esteem in which this smallish grocery store is bathed. It's just EXACTLY LIKE the huge national chain supermarkets, except in miniature. It sells every kind if item, paralleling the thesis of giant supermarkets. There are at least siz different variants of every sort of item, from boxed cerials to chocolate syrups.

This store has it's own deli, offering thin-sliced Boar's Head meats and cheeses. The deli makes customized subs and sandwhiches of every imaginable permutation, adorned to order. Workers nearby literslly flock to this place to satisfy their lunchtime cravings.

This store especially caters to the tastes of Hispanics, in their baked goods , their specialty cheeses, and canned hot peppers in a hundred varieties.

Just as Allston is the cultural epicenter of the human race, and Allston Village is the epicenter of Allston, so is Night Star Market & Deli the epicenter of Allston Village. Over time, this tiny store gets patronized by thousands, especially tourists. Yet it is very rarely crowded.

I want to recommend their deli roast beef. That stuff is otherworldly good, and they shave it razor thin for you....

They have great foot long subs that everybody gets there. They are also very friendly and easy going. My one complaint is that the A/C broke at the beginning of last summer and they took many months to fix it. Perhaps this was not their fault and they genuinely could not find a repair person. Still, it began to smell badly inside the store and I had to stop shopping there for awhile because of it. If it were not for this I would definitely have given them...

I've lived near these guys for 2 years. They are the salt of the earth and are truly good people. The store itself has a little bit of anything, and has always gotten me out of a pinch. The deli, while small is really good, especially for the price! Best convenience...
