When I called to make the appointment she didn't even ask for my name. When I arrived my appointment took another customer and made me to wait an extra 20 minutes to be seen. She made me sit on the chair before cleaning the seat, floor and tools but she made me sit on the other people's cut hair and dirt. She has poor English and cannot understand what kind of haircut I requested. I asked if she had hair magazines, pictures to show. She said "no" and started cutting my hair only 1 inch from the original hair; after 10 minute work she charged me $50. She does not accept an AMEX card. She accepts only cash, Visa, master cards and demands to add a tip to her additional. I gave her $5.00 cash to get back my credit card from her hand. She did not provide me with a receipt. She saved a printed receipt for herself but not for me despite my demand. She asked me to take a picture from her own receipts which I took but there is no detail about this $50. charge for. It surprised me how she got 5 star reviews and awards. I want to give her minus 5 but no such options... I wonder how the city allows her with poor hygiene and corrupt business practices. Oh man she’s good. I’ve got a great guy that already cuts my hair but I was in the area and thought I’d give Sue a try. Not only did she stay open for me after hours but she took great care and time when cutting my hair, so she didn’t rush just because it was after closing time. The guy before me walked out with a slick cut and I knew something good was coming. Her technique man, you can just see she knows what she’s doing. I’m quite picky and cautious to try just anyone as hair is quite a personal thing and you don’t want to walk out paying for something that you’re unhappy with, but Sue really delivered. I know good technique when I see it and she’s got it. Not many people do the extra things that she does while cutting your hair and I think that’s what sets her apart. Testament to this is the fact that the raving reviews on here are from both men and women - if you’re good it doesn’t matter who’s hair and what length you’re cutting. I had a great first experience at Sue’s Hair Salon! When I arrived for my appointment, there were a few small kids getting their hair cut, which ran over my scheduled time. Sue was very considerate and asked if I was okay with waiting. Since I had the flexibility, I didn’t mind, and she even gave me a discount for the delay, which was very thoughtful of her.
