I have dealt with this location on several occasions. while the in store sales associates are courteous and professional the overall organization of the store and its management is horrendous.
I came in and bought 2 brand new suits with matching ties, accessories, several shirt combinations, etc. Alterations need to be made to one of the suits that was currently in stock. That is fine. I made these purchases a solid week before the event that I had scheduled. When I showed up the day before the event to pick up my garments I found that some of the alterations had been made but the buttons for my suit straps had not been added into the slacks. There was no phone call to tell me that the order was ready. The manager on duty looked at my work order ticket and tried to explain to me how "there was notes on the back of the ticket and they didn't read just but the front of the ticket" --- I dont care!
The manager and the staff were more concerned about trying to figure out who to blame for the mistake then they were about taking care of my needs as your customer And getting the job done so that I could make the event which I had planned for.
The solution which I had to come up with myself was call the other stores in the area and find somebody who had a tailor on staff this evening. The sales associate asked one of his team to run the suit up to the gambrills store and his reply was "I got things to do tonight, I got plans" I was Appalled. I told the Bowie store... call the Gambrills store and tell them I am coming now. The reply was "oh well you only have 35 minutes to get there before the talor is gone from there"
35 min. Bowie to crofton in rush hour traffic, dunno if I can make that ( Not that I had anything else to do that evening Except fix your mistake) as I left the bowie store I very calmly explained... You need to call the store in Gambrills and explain to them that I'm coming. Explain that you guys messed up and pay the taylor or who ever over time or whatever you have to do in order to get the job done. I did my part as your customer: I preplanned my event. I paid for your merchandice. You all have not held up your end at all. Gambrills was such a relief. They were excellent and professional and made me feel a lot better about the situation. Suit 2: July 6th. I pre planned my Friday so that I took care of all my other things I had to run around for and men's wearhouse was supposed to open up at 10:30. the latest of all my appointments I thought "fine... is what it is" What I showed up at the bowie store at 10:50 a.m. all the gates were down the lights were off and there is the big closed sign outside. I had an interview at 3:00 p.m. today. I would like to wear this brand new suit which I ordered when I purchased the 1st one. I was told that the measurements would be the same on both suits they were just different colors and that the store was going to take care of the alterations and everything would be fine. I never got a phone call.. nothing.. "Mr. Mayer your suit is in store and ready after the alterations" I waited 2 and a 1/2 weeks approximately. No phone call. How is it that a retail company that works in high end clothing does not take the time to call customers when their alterations and orders are ready. My local tackle shop calls me when my fishing rods I ordered came in !!
On a week I've got a very import interview I figured I would go in there and see what the story was with my suit. Not only was the store opened up by 11:10 in the morning (as a line grew outside) THE ALTERATIONS WERE NOT DONE!!! Again the manager of the Gambrills store said please sir bring your stuff up here to me and I'll make sure you get it done before your interview today 3:00 p.m.
Never again will I deal with BOWIE. It is really horrible that there is a store a mile from my house that I refuse to use because their...
Read moreYesterday evening, I called this location to confirm that the tailor would be available to adjust my suits before my next work trip because I’ve lost 20 lbs since then. When I arrived today, one of the representatives, who was not very inviting, asked what I needed. I let him know that I was there to see the tailor to have my three suits altered. The rep proceeded to ask if I had the suits dry-cleaned. I told him I did it a few months ago after my last trip in February. He then said that my suits needed to be recently dry-cleaned for service and that I had to provide the tags as proof. Obviously, I didn’t have the tags after two months, so he pretty much shrugged his shoulders like, “Oh well.” I was very livid because I had wasted a trip this afternoon. This is where I had these suits altered when I first bought them. I made the purchase online and had them shipped to me. When I brought them into the store then, nobody stopped me and asked for dry cleaning tags. Additionally, I’ve been to other tailors before, and none of them had this requirement. This is very disappointing. The gentleman on the phone should’ve said this was the policy when I asked for the tailor's...
Read moreI am very disappointed in this location. My son went in for his fitting this morning, they refused to do his fitting, but instead told him that he needs to pay $240 to get a suit. He's a part of a wedding party in another state, and everyone on the list have been fitted and have their suits. This is ridiculous. He's quiet and doesn't talk much, but I'm glad I wasn't in Maryland. This is unprofessional and lock of knowledge. The wedding is in December and this young man couldn't get fitted, because they want him pay for a suit he didn't even tried on. How will you know the size of a person to order a suit, before you even do a full measurement. We have other guys from around the country, that's traveling for this wedding, no one else had this encounter, but him. I'll make sure I get to the head of this location or corporate office. All of the guys spend a lot getting their suits, so this shouldn't be a problem. We can't be spending our money and being mistreated. I'm disappointed, but I'll get to the...
