Went to the distillery tasting room on main street and had a fantastic experience. First off, the prices are very affordable and allow you the opportunity to try their wide range of expressions without stretching the wallet. The whiskey itself is exceptional. They are definitely an up and coming distillery and it's very impressive that they have a solid base offering but then showcase a wide variety of finishes and are even getting into the American single malt space.
Entry level bourbon - solid. Rum finish - solid. Double barrel blend - solid. Powder Hound - exquisite. Px finish - phenomenal. High Proof - phenomenal. I'm honestly just super impressed with their offerings. They've won awards and all that but I wasn't fully expecting their whiskey to be as good as it is. None of their expressions missed the mark. You need to try something from them.
The tasting room itself was clean, organized, and welcoming. And our bartender Josh was absolutely phenomenal! He was insanely knowledgeable, and super engaging with conversation and any questions we had about the whiskey or distillery. He was friendly and approachable but was never overbearing or annoying and was never trying to sell us anything. Truly, one of the best, if not the best, bartenders we've ever encountered.
Give Breckenridge Distillery a try - you won't regret it. And if you have the opportunity, hang out with Josh at the tasting room on main street, you'll come out of it more educated and more appreciative for whiskey as a whole than you went in. I grabbed a couple bottles and will be following their growth and enjoying and sharing more bottles...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went in and were greeted warmly by a staff member (name unknown). The products were lovely and subsequently we picked out a whiskey glass to buy as a Christmas present which we have to transport to the UK.
When we were checking out, The cashier (David O.) had a ācouldnāt care lessā attitude and made us feel like a bit of an inconvenience. As we were paying he mentioned that he might not have any gift wrap for the glass. Only once we had paid did he say they had absolutely no means of protecting the glass we had bought - no box/bubble wrap or even newspaper to wrap it in, and even more frustratingly, he offered no apology. It is ridiculous to sell fragile products with no way to protect them. We actually had to pick up a paper cup at the water cooler on the way out to prevent the glass from being scratched.
We have been coming to Breck for 20 years and love to support local businesses who usually welcome us warmly and operate to a high standard, however this was not the case today. Very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a scam! I would ask everyone to avoid going here. So me and three other friends arrive here and were nicely greeted. The bartender asked what we wanted to taste and we each got small tastings. And then one of the men ordered a single barrel taster and the bartender said this will be a ālittle bit of an up chargeā. We agreed and had the taste. Another one of us ordered a ālittle bit of an up chargeā taster. After these tasters we wanted to leave and the bartender said it would be $57!!! We thought he was joking but he was serious. He said the little tasters we tried were free but the up charge tasters were 25 and 27$!! This was a complete surprise because he bartender never disclosed that little tasters were free and little up charge tasters were over $20! Haha I canāt believe this place. And reading over other reviews it sounds like everyone else had good experiences but I guess this bartender wanted to screw us over. Anyway. Goodbye and...
