This is not our 1st time and wonât be our last using Summit Mountain Rentals. Our stay at Shavano Peerless was wonderful the location canât be beat. The views of the mountain, being able to see the different peaks from your couch- also being able to keep an eye on the lift lines, or peel around and see how the crowd is at the hot tubs!
With kids this location was our best stay yet- walk out of the building and youâre at the village ski school (pic attached from master bedroom balcony when my husband went to pick our son up from his ATP lesson)- walk around the Maggie and youâre at the quicksilver lift(pic attached of quicksilver lift from living room). Go the other way less than a block and your on Main Street - restaurants and shopping are all right there as well. VERY much appreciated.
The unit itself was very comfortable- nice real wood burning fireplace, plenty of kitchen utensils, cookware and such, there was basic salt/pepper, sugar and a few spices. We stayed for a week and all slept well- comfortable beds/bedding. Each room has its own heating units which was nice so everyone could control their comfort level. Each bedroom has a balcony, and a view. The bunk room having its own sink/vanity area really helps with getting ready and out the door.
We stayed in February and while this unit is on the 7th floor (bring your patience the elevator can be a little slow) we never had an issue with hot water- weâve stayed other places and had issues with higher floors (2nd and up) and hot water- we all had plenty of hot water and decent water pressure- any time of day.
The unit does have a private washing machine and dryer -the washing machine to our surprise was broken upon our arrival- which was a bummer but there is a communal W/D right down the hall- itâs paid/run by app which also makes it easy to track when your load is done. Not bad once I could find the machine not in use. And the dryer in unit worked for drying loads and drying out wet ski items. Summit did try to have the washer fixed but itâs awaiting a new panel thatâs on order.
The village just redid their hot tubs/rec area and such last year -I believe it was- and itâs nice- they have multiple hot tubs- and indoor/outdoor pool with little kids slide, a Rec area with pool table and arcade games, a sitting area with fireplace, a gym and a theatre room. We all really enjoyed it.
Parking can be a bit of a challenge/stressful in the village garage be sure to confirm if you need parking, as itâs not guaranteed.
Summit Mountain Rentals was great during our stay as well- we got in town a little early and were able to pick up our keys and check right in. After getting to our condo we realized there were no humidifiers in the unit- and being from the South the dry air takes a toll on us- the Summit team was a text away and brought humidifiers right over, even with crazy holiday traffic- they also brought us fans later that afternoon as well.
We rented some gear across the street from Blue River Sports, weâve used them in the past- and highly recommend them, especially in proximity to this unit- book ahead online for the best deals too.
And being from lower elevation we always do an oxygen tank rental- Peak Oxygen is awesome- they deliver to your door- get ya set up and it can really save your trip!
Had a great trip, ready to plan...
Read moreCaution for Consumers: Unpleasant Experience with Summit Mountain Rentals I strongly advise against renting from Summit Mountain Rentals due to my extremely unsatisfactory experience with their services. Here are the key issues I encountered: Communication Challenges: o The predominant mode of communication is through text messages, which does not align with my preferred method for business transactions. o Upon delayed responses to texts, I received a threatening message, stating that my reservation would be canceled if I didn't complete their renter profile within 24 hours. Hidden Credit Card Fee: o Customers are required to pay a credit card fee for the second payment. o When I inquired about this, I received a lengthy and inappropriate explanation from Ashley about business costs, leaving me dissatisfied. Lack of Basic Amenities: o The rented unit, while accurately depicted, was extremely basic with no welcoming amenities. o The pantry was empty, lacking even essential items like cooking oil, salt, pepper, and sugar, which I found inconvenient. Poor Quality Linens: o The provided linens were cheap and threadbare, with frayed seams on the top sheet, reflecting subpar quality. Maintenance Issues: o The fireplace required maintenance to function properly and caused persistent trouble throughout my stay. Inconvenient Key Return Policy: o Guests are required to return keys to the rental office to "complete the check-out process." o Despite adhering to the check-out time, I received a call from Josh at 11:45 am threatening a $75 charge if I didn't return the keys by noon. This forced me to cut short my last ski day and rush down the mountain to meet their demand, significantly impacting my experience as a guest. Summit Mountain Rentals' customer-unfriendly policies and practices marred what should have been an enjoyable rental experience, especially in a ski town where guests often plan to ski on...
Read moreMy friends and I had plans to stay in Denver for our girls trip, but when our air bnb fell through we were left with 4 plane tickets, a rental car, and no place to stay. We were visiting family who live in Breckenridge so we decided that since we had the rental car maybe we should look onto lodging in Breckenridge instead. I mean, the mountains are way more peaceful than the city any day of the week, right? So it kind of seemed like a no brained. I hopped online and found summit mountain rentals. They had so many beautiful and affordable options, we couldnât believe it. So I called them the morning we were leaving (You canât book anything for the same day online for some reason, so I waited for the office to be open, and they told me they were working on fixing that error on the website) anyway, they were able to book us for that evening in the condo we selected from their website! We were totally relieved to know we had beds to sleep in when we finally got settled in. We even saved a few bucks for paying right then over the phone :) The check in process was awesome, I told them we were arriving late; they said the office would be closed and sent me the instructions for getting the keys after hours, we also departed early and the process for checkout was super simple. I never had to talk with anyone other than when I made the initial call, I got a text from a number I could text if we needed anything during our stay, the property was beautiful and clean and comfortable, the location was perfect, and the break away from the hustle and bustle of life was much needed. Thereâs nothing like being in the mountains. Iâve had the privilege of snowboarding in Breckenridge when I lived in Colorado, but this was my first time lodging there and I couldnât have had a better experience! Im still so stoked they were able to accommodate us...
