First Time (2023): We were able to get a Friday reservation for a party of 8 to celebrate a birthday. Our family ordered everything from the happy hour menu, five pasta dishes, a couple of sides. No joke, every single bite was amazing. Each dish that arrived was better than the bite before. The cocktails were not pretentious, simple, and perfect. Our service was impeccable, the kind of service, going out to dinner is made special. And, they took great care of our birthday celebration, presenting a signed card by the entire staff and a scoop of gelato with a decorated plate! The atmosphere was beautiful, simple, and intimate. Thank you for such a great last night in Breck as a large family and a special birthday.
Second Time(2025): My husband and I were so excited to return again to Radicato for another memorable experience. The service once again was superb, outstanding and we did not withhold our appreciation. We arrived for happy hour, sat outside in both sun and shade. The cocktails we ordered were delicious, unique, and special. Appetizers included one from hh menu: the carpaccio, a bit smaller than I remembered from our first visit, but absolutely perfect on flavor. The other appetizer we ordered from the main menu and was so outstanding, the whipped ricotta. Only misunderstanding we had, prior to ordering the ricotta I asked how is it served, expecting the answer to be crackers, flatbread, something to dip/scoop. Our wait staff replied, "it comes with focaccia". When the bill arrived, I was charged separately as much for the focaccia as the ricotta. Confused. I did not question. But, with such great service, I would have expected a clearer response to how the dish was served. Either way, the ricotta was amazing, if it didn't come with any option to enjoy it, I am wondering if one is expected to eat it with a spoon on its own?!! I definitely would have done that, it...
Read moreThere are a handful of places on earth where impeccable food and incredible service make magic. I can add Radicato to that list. We sort of stumbled upon it while we were in Breckenridge and I am forever grateful that we did.
We opted for the tasting menu. From start to finish, it was superb. I will say that the Tartare di Tonno was a standout, and the Cacio e Pepe was the most flavorful pasta I have had to date--simple and so complex at the same time. We took a bonus order to go! The Cappelletti di Zuppa, the soup dumpling, was deep, robust and satisfying. We chose the whole Branzino for our main course. The cook was impeccable--it was flaky and light and the crispy skin was perfection. I am not usually a fan of the raw radish, but the radish with tonnato and sunflower won me over. Similarly, my husband is not a fan of peas, but the spring snap peas converted him. Dessert was also incredible, most especially the Butterscotch Budino. So much attention is paid to the marriage of flavors, but equal attention to the experience of eating--the service of each course, the mixture of textures, the mouth feel of every bite. Truly one of the most memorable dinners we've had--reminiscent of incredible food we have shared in Italy, Turkey, Mexico, New York City, and Denver.
And the service? Brilliant. Faultless. Both Garrett and Josh (and one other gentleman whose name I sadly did not get) were the very definition of hospitality. Just the right amount of getting to know us to make it a unique experience (including asking about food sensitivity, congratulatory gelato and the chef-signed menu), and enough hands off that it felt like we were the only two people in the place--every need anticipated.
