BEWARE. Rented "4 o' clock" through VRBO. First of all, if you rent through VRBO, you will see very sporadic reviews on this property because according to VRBO, Ski Country has "their own software" for their reviews. With VRBO you have 14 days after the host reviews you to write your review, but the notification goes to your spam folder since this host "uses their own software." My issue was this: The fireplace in the living room. It didn't work when we arrived and this is your heat source for the main area of the unit. Furthermore, and even worse, the fireplace constantly clicked very loudly (whether fireplace is on or off) preventing someone from being able to sleep in that room. (kids may be able to, but it is very difficult for adults) Apparently this has been an ongoing issue for AT LEAST A YEAR when I was able to go back and dig into reviews. During our stay, the technician came out and "fixed" the fireplace while we were skiing. It was turned on when we came back, but still was clicking and then would not turn back on again the next day. I called again, the technician that came out this time said "This fireplace has been a major problem"....yes apparently a problem for at least A YEAR!!! I would ski all day, have evening plans and then realize the problem VERY late at night when the rest of my party was asleep and I didnt want to call the emergency line to get someone to come evaluate the clicking that based on history would probably not get fixed. We ended our trip one who day early due to my lack of sleep!! I called the host on our way to the airport, having 3-4 conversations with them about the issue and asking for some of my money back. Their answer was "no" we handled the issue when you called. NO YOU DIDNT....nor did you fix the issue when it was previously brought to your attention for the last year. I think as long as kids stay in the room, there may not be complaints, but an adult cannot possibly sleep with the loud clicking of the fireplace. Not a good company to...
Read morePark Meadows and associated Ski Country Resorts offered everything we wanted and needed in our stay. 4B is exactly what you see in the photos--- not large, but large enough for 3 (our 18 year old slept comfortably on the pull out sofa), plenty of warm water for showers, and a kitchen. This is not a fancy place but it is comfortable, clean, warm, affordable. We did not use the outdoor hot tub but it looked nice. We could hear our upstairs neighbors occasionally (footsteps only) otherwise there was plenty of quiet for sleeping. Town is a walkable distance as is the gondola for access to the ski area. I highly recommend this complex and 4B in particular (end unit) for comfortable accommodations at a good price. The shuttle system made it easy and convenient to get around without navigating the snowy roads ourselves. Tip: The coffee maker uses round filters... I packed enough coffee and filters from home so that we did not have to buy these at arrival. Get a grocery card for discounts otherwise your Kroger card will work too. Ski Country offers a reusable grocery bag for free, get this before you go to City Market otherwise you will pay 10c per bag. Besides groceries, the City Market strip mall also has a liquor store; Soup'z On is nearby for delicious and not expensive salad, bread, and soup (e.g. Elk Stroganoff, Hungarian Goulash, Chicken Noodle, Caribbean...
Read moreWe stayed in Highlander 305 (305 Primrose Path). Whole experience with Ski Country Resorts was poor from start to finish. Once we'd booked the accommodation, we wanted the address to make consideration for wheelchair use for our son - they wouldn't give it to us without having quite a pointed phone call first.
The accommodation unit itself was nice enough but just not cleaned or maintained. On arrival there was urine (not sure if human or animal!) on the living room carpet. There was plates with rotten raw meat on them in the kitchen cupboards (see photo). Two of the three beds creaked with the slightest of movements. The downstairs bedroom windows were jammed during the summer in a house with no air conditioning.
You can't check in until from 16:00 but the office closes at 17:00.
They have a bizarre WhatsApp system where they bombard you with information whilst you're probably either out trying to enjoy a hike or drive to your accomodation.
When we checked out, I asked if we could use the free 30 minute customer parking to grab a coffee. I was told I couldn't.
I related my disappointment to Nick at check out. He wrote them down and offered an insincere apology, but offered no further condolence or concession.
Super disappointing compared to all other Colorado...
