me and my wife went here for breakfast on Sunday at around 11;45am. The hostess told us there was about a 20 minute wait, and I told her no problem and gave her my name. After about 25 minutes, my wife told me the hostess seated two people that came in after us. So I walked up and asked the hostess if it was gonna be much longer and she told me maybe another 10 minutes. I smiled and said "ok, thank you". I sat back down next to my wife and told her maybe she just over looked us..?? I always give people the benefit of a doubt. Then about 10 minutes later, another couple walks in and spoke with the hostess, and were then seated at a booth. I know these people were not on the list, so I walked up and asked the waitress why they were seated ahead of us, and she told me they were only going to be there for a couple minutes and that we would be seated shortly, and walked away. My wife was in the bathroom during this time, so she didn't see the other couple get seated ahead of us. I didn't say anything to her just yet. A few minutes later, I glanced over at the couple that was seated ahead of us, and the lady looked over at me, said something to the guy she was with, and he turned and looked at me, shook his head, and motioned his hand toward me in a dismissive way, said something and they both laughed. Now I am little pissed off. But I did not say anything. The hostess finally took us to our table. The waiter treated us ok, and the food was good, but it wasn't hot. And the couple that was suppose to just be there a couple minutes ordered food, and were still eating after we left. Now just so you all know, I don't write reviews very often, unless I am very impressed with service/food, or unless I feel services/food were "below subpar". We are not locals to Breckenridge, but we come up here every year for vacation and enjoy eating at the local eateries. This little cafe had a 4 star rating out of 333 reviews, so we thought it would be a good place to get some breakfast. We were wrong and will not ever eat there again. If I had read some of the negative reviews before deciding on this place, we would not have eaten here. It just felt like the hostess catered to the locals. She needs to understand that Breckenridge is a tourist town, and if it were not for people like my wife and myself, business would not be anywhere...
Read moreThe reason i gave you one star was because, today l ordered food to go. (2 huevos rancheros and a sandwich with fruit and 2 cakes). and what was my surprise, they forgot to add the fruit to the sandwich and my huevos rancheros didn't have Salsa. so, I called and i asked if they can refund a portion of the money (for the salsa and fruit) because my order what not complete and i was already home, and i got told by two different people that they couldn't refund any money because the Fuit and salsa were FREE! then i insist that was their fault not mine because i paid for the whole meal. l was not asking for more or less. But final answer was the same! sorry but there is no way to refund anything because as we mentioned before the fruit and salsa are FREE!!! .. l suggests the employees to check twice before giving the food away because i did count the containers because this is not the first time that this happened to me, but i never thought that they wouldn't have the full meal inside. i Paid $61.84 and i tip them $ 15.00. FYI don't be surprised if i stop by one of these days for free fruit and Salsa on my way home since there is no charge. Cashier was Veronica my card end it #8570. (put my refund back or i will be eating FREE fruit all year jk but it really...
Read moreI don't write reviews often, but this place really impressed me, so here I am. We took a quick weekend getaway for one night to Breckenridge. Unfortunately, we didn't get out of the hotel early enough to catch breakfast at most places, but Columbine Cafe serves breakfast all day, so we ended up here. First, their list of yummy coffee drinks was impressive, so we indulged in a treat. Very tasty! For breakfast, my boyfriend had the breakfast burrito and I had a combo type plate of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and pancakes. We both requested crispy potatoes and I asked for crispy bacon. Typically, that type of request gets glossed over and you kind of get whatever they feel like giving you. We were both very pleasantly surprised when the potatoes were a nice crispy golden brown without being burned, and my bacon was also the perfect level of crispiness. It's such a small thing, but it was just a perfect breakfast and made us so happy. The burrito was also filled with the good stuff, instead of a bunch of filler potatoes, and the pork green chili was amazing. I don't usually rave about breakfast, but this place really...
