I would recommend TC Auto spot to anybody who values having an individual provide and install quality products with their hard earned money the right way and seamlessly. Eric exceeded my expectations with the work he did. I really appreciate the time he took to get me into the proper system to fit my needs. He wasn’t pushy nor was impatient. I told him what I wanted and he gave suggestions... …SUPERB suggestions.

I have a couple friends who have heard my new stereo, (which I didn’t have to take the kids out of private school to afford, btw), and they compliment on the pristine clarity of the sound. Now having a quality product is one thing, however, the proper installation is just as important.

I asked Eric how long it would take, he told me six hours. I was a little bit meh at first, however, it’s much like the fact that you can’t rush good food. DISCLAIMER: I’m very impatient. Then I realized, this guy is actually taking the time to do the job right. I would go back to TC Auto Spot in a heartbeat.

This guy is local. I like the fact that he’s not some big corporate mogul who is more concerned with profit over quality of work. I know I paid for it, however, my dollar went further with his expertise behind the workmanship to make my vehicle’s sound system 100X better. Thank you Eric. Update:

Eric made me an enclosure. He promised that it'd make the bass sound at least 20% better. He actually made it sound 200% better. I'm really not even exaggerating. He did a fantastic job. In addition, with more bass comes more rattles. It's basically pretty simple. I dropped off the car and got the new sub put in and I hear the bass, not the rattles. Real talk.

In addition he was going to install some speakers in the back and saw that the ones I had were pretty good. He's not only extremely skilled and effective at what he does he's also HONEST! He's honest, provides quality work and he's also got his fine merchandise set at a competitive price. These days it's difficult to come across a good business model like the one he has. There's only one place I'll go to for my car audio. That's to TC Auto...

The short: I had my 2018 VW Alltrack's factory sound system upgraded by T.C. Auto Spot. Everything about the process was highly professional, fairly priced, and got me exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend going here for car audio improvements.

The longer: I had first considered a do-it-yourself project to upgrade speakers, add an amp, a DSP, and a subwoofer, and was thinking about buying everything through Crutchfield. While I don't have much car audio experience, I can usually figure stuff out and thought a DIY could be very satisfying. After more reflection, I decided it would be a huge headache and not worth the few hundred dollars I would save by doing my own labor (plus whatever I would break along the way!). I had first stopped by another Minneapolis area car audio store with good reviews on google. The sales person/tech who talked with me steered me toward extremely expensive components even though I first explained to him what I was and was not looking for. I left there with a very bad taste in my mouth. I then contacted T.C. Auto Spot by email. The owner, Eric, quickly got back to me, putting together 3 different levels of car audio system at different price/quality levels (all of which were substantially less than the other place). During the entire process of choosing components, I worked directly with Eric, and he consistently responded extremely quickly via email to my many questions, even on the days they were closed (Sunday/Monday). As car audio installation is complex, we ran into a couple small issues, which Eric again responded to very quickly, getting me into the shop immediately and fixing the issues at no cost. Their labor is guaranteed for life I believe. I met with Eric several times in person and he was very polite, friendly, and both listened to what I was hoping to get and clearly explained everything he was thinking about. Great, friendly people at this shop. They're helpful on the phone, easy to speak with and you can tell they want to help. Unfortunately in my case, they weren't able to finish the job all the way. I have a Corolla (stock everything) that had one front tweeter cutting in and out. When I brought it in to get it repaired, they said they could look at it, but also suggested upgrading all 4 of my front speakers while we're at it. I agreed to the extra investment thinking not only would I have working speakers again, but they'd all sound better. After a very long appointment (they apologized and explained that they had to interrupt my appointment to service a previous customer who returned with issues), I picked up my car. Sounded great immediately, but within two days the same speaker that I'd originally brought in for the repair was still cutting in and out. They had replaced this speaker along with the others, so this felt like it might be a wiring issue, not the speaker itself. I made another appointment, brought it back, and they were happy to look at it. They ended up just replacing the same tweeter a second time and sent me on my way. It worked again for a couple days, but only intermittently. While the 3 other new speakers do sound wonderful, TC Auto Spot didn't address the original issue. I can't spend more time bringing it back for them to try new things, so I'm going to live with the problem as long as I can, then find a new shop. All in all, this was a little frustrating.
