I was the mom that I wasn't going to do the "dance studio" thing for my girls. I grew up dancing and love everything about dance, but not everything about dance studio life; the drama, the expense, the cattiness, all of that...
My theater kid and I came across Headline on an internet search and decided to try out the Triple Threat Musical Theater class and Tap. We almost immediately added Jazz...and then my younger daughter joined the jazz class for her age...now this year we've added my son and between the three of them my kids are taking about a dozen classes.
The owners and staff have not just opened a dance studio, they've created a dance family. Everyone is accepted, encouraged, and celebrated for their own abilities and strengths, while also being pushed to be the best versions of themselves on and off the dance floor. The older dancers are true role models for the younger kids as dancers and young adults, and my daughter specifically has been encouraged and loved by all of the teens she admires and adores.
The instruction is coming from true professionals who have lived/are living the dancers' dream life! (Broadway, Vikings cheerleaders, etc...) One of the owners and dedicated teacher, Enrico Rodriguez is the guy all of the "big studios" fly out to work with their students and choreograph their routines, and our kids get to have him as their full time teacher! They are second to none and we could not be more pleased with the coaching, training, mentorship, and LOVE we have gotten from each of the teachers.
In just the first year, the competitive dancers excelled at competitions along with well established studios. I can't wait to see all of the things Headline accomplishes in the future and I am so grateful that our family gets to be...

What was most disheartening was hearing about the treatment of the girls by one of the volunteers. Additionally, the final performance was scheduled during a workday, which wasnāt communicated at the time of registration. As a result, I couldn't attend, which was really disappointing as a parent, although some family members were able to go.
Overall, for the cost of this camp, I had anticipated a higher level of organization and quality.
Otherwise, the owners were nice and location was easy to get to. My daughter enjoy her time with...

Students and parents are encouraged to support everyone and welcome everyone. Technique is highly-focused and positive reinforcement dominates, rather than yelling and demeaning that can rest itās ugly face in the large world of competitive dance. Enricoās credentials as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and judge really contribute to high success, while maintaining a fun, safe place for students to get as much joy out of dancing as possible. Additionally, there are options for acting and singing, as well as room for adults to stay involved in dance themselves. Definitely worth...
