Let’s start by saying that this is not meant for Pawn America. I’ve had better service there.
I was interested in a trade for a bike you guys had. A Trek Marlin 7. Yes, that bike has plastic pedals, mid tier brakes, okay tires, and the basic rock shox and plastic reflectors all over.
I have a Scott Aspect 940. Also has plastic pedals, mid tier brakes, ok tires and mid tier sun tour shocks.
This bike has been ridden this summer 4 times. The knobs on the tires are still there. It had dirt on the tires. No wear on the bike. It still has the 2 year warranty on it that includes washes and tune ups.
I brought this in, and this guy offered me $150 for it…. I wasn’t even looking for cash, I wanted a trade.$150 for a bike that I paid over $1000 last year.
He said this bike has been ridden hard. That it had salt, it was in bad condition. And he said… it has plastic pedals…
I’ve been actively riding bikes and buying bikes for the last 11 years. I know what the bike is worth, especially with the parts and bike shortage going on.
What a slap in the face, the fact that he tried to make a bike that it’s in excellent condition, sound like it’s been destroyed. Tires are just dirty from DIRT. No rust, or corrosion in any part of the bike.
I actively go to pawn shops and have bought anything from 5 bucks to a 85” $2000 tv. The nice thing is Pawn America will work with you.
If you want to pawn or sell something, do it at Pawn America. They offered me more on my bike just to see what it’s worth.
Good try wanting to low ball me, pretty scummy on how the whole interaction was.
Didn’t know you guys paid employees...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that I've visited many of pawn stores throughout the metro area and right upon walking in, knew something was different about this one.The professionalism and knowledge that was expressed was impressive by all standards. Corey, not only gave me a fair price on the item I brought in but, he was very informative to the questions I asked about products I was inquiring about. This is not your typical pawn shop where customer service is also one of the items for sale. This is the "Cheer's" of pawn shops on the second hand scene, where on your way out the door they will know you by name ( that's why Cheer's..where everybody knows your name). After a visit here you'll be wishing that every place you shopped, took lessons in "customer service" from these employee's.It's refreshing to see a business operate this way. It has "Awesome" management and a very "Kind and Intelligent" staff. So, if you have ever been curious of how much that 18K gold with diamond accent African Zulu tribal mask may sell for, stop on by and have a chat with the staff. They will give you a more than fair value for your item. I'm 99.9% sure that like me, this will be the one and only pawn shop you'll do business with. Great place, Great people and...

Charging $50 for a brick of 22lr ammo that is in full stock at every Walmart for $28 is hilarious. Serious price gouging on ammo and outdoor goods. Brand name knives for sale for more than what they cost on Blade HQ or Amazon. Not knocking the business. It’s clean and they’re friendly and they’re just trying to make a living. But marking up goods for more than retail was just shocking to see. I wish I could afford to pay more to buy used to support a local business but that’s not the case for most people.
Edit: 22lr was not 10 cents a round.. they’re bricks of 325 federal for $49.99.. that’s 15.3 cents per round. Again, the same ammo at Walmart 5 minutes away is $28.99, or 8 cents per round. So that’s DOUBLE. I had friends that work for federal ammo and they laughed when I...
