I guess how people feel about Rasputin depends a lot on what you're looking for and a dice roll of who you deal with.
I had some DVDs and CDs I wanted to get rid of and brought them in to sell. I got there at 4:00 on 8/31/17 and they told me it would take a half hour to go through what I'd brought. I told them I'd rather leave my stuff there and come back when they were ready. They took my phone number and said they'd call me.
By 6:00 I was leaving to meet with friends and since I hadn't heard from Rasputin I called to see where things were at. They told me what their offer was (less than a dollar per disc) and said I could come in any time before they closed that night.
When I told them I couldn't get in that night, things got odd. Basically, they pretty much insisted that I had to come in that evening. I explained that I already had plans and I'd come in the following day. The person I was speaking with wasn't okay with that but we finished our talk with me telling him I'd be in the next day after they opened.
A few minutes later I got a call from the kid who manages that department and he basically tried to force me to come back that night. Among other things, he said their policy was to not hold anything overnight because in the past they'd had people drop stuff off and then go on vacation. I told him it would have made a lot of sense to have told me they expected me back that night. He repeated that was their policy and said it's posted on the countertop where I dropped off my stuff.
I told him I didn't think it was realistic to expect people to move the stuff sitting on top of the counter thinking there might be something important to read there. Once again he repeated that it was their policy. He then said I'd forfeit if I didn't come in that night. He also said they had a right to refuse doing business with me and stated that I was being argumentative.
So... They took my number and didn't call me back. When I called them back they insisted I go in that evening because that's their policy. Their policy is covered by clutter on the countertop. Rather than listen to a customer they labeled me as argumentative because I didn't just accept what I was being told.
This is just about the worst "management" I've ever come across. Fortunately I also have the right to refuse doing...
Read moreI phoned this place asking if they purchased dvd's and the person who answered the phone was extremely friendly and helpful to the point I was anxious to get there. I arrive a little later that day I had literally about 8 dvd's that I just don't want. I walk in I see a couple people behing the counter and asked "do you buy dvd's?" at that point a man with a beard says in a very loud and aggressive tone something about wait 10 minutes, and then even more loud and aggressive he says "put them over there go browse 10 minutes" I have never been to this store in my life so whatever the process is to get rid of dvd's I had no idea. I say to the person excuse me what do I do? His voice is still escalating and he is saying the same thing, finally I figure oh set the dvd's on the counter and ok I will go browse. Before I start to go browse I say you know your very aggressive and loud. I realize that it is better for me to walk away so I then do that and proceed to wait the "10 minutes". well literally 2o minutes later I go back to the counter cause I havent been told anything and the person there calls someone, who was not the bearded fellow, and this person says oh this has been done and we will give you something like a $1 Now I am thinking why am I waiting 20 minutes its only 8 dvd's and its a dollar lol. I say not cool making me wait and I don't think I want you to have the dvd's and I left and gave them to a good will. I personally will never recommend this place, nor will I ever...
Read moreI’ll be reviewing Anastasia’s Vintage Clothing.
Review as a buyer: their prices are as high as storebought prices and the quality of the selection does not match the price.
Review as a seller: I’ll start off with saying first of all, it’s my fault for even accepting the deal they offered me. I will give them a pro, they are not picky with what they buy from you. However, I brought in approximately 35 articles of clothing (many of which were good labels and had never been worn before), 30 were accepted. The pink haired woman at the register initially offered $25 cash, and after seeing me hesitate, they said the “most they could offer” was $27 cash for all 30 pieces, the only pieces they rejected were because they were stained or too small to be sold (understandable). I decided to keep two articles for sentimental purposes and the price got moved down to $25 again. How does this make sense??? My clothes were hypothetically going for less than a dollar per piece, but $2 got knocked off when I took 2 pieces back. Don’t bring your business here, I’d recommend trying to sell at more picky consignment stores, then thrift stores, then here. It brought me some solace to know someone would like my clothes, but I got upset thinking about how they’d likely massively overcharge considering they gave me less than a dollar for each of my clothes. I won’t be coming back here, I’d rather go to Goodwill for the tax benefits. Their deal is that they will offer 20% more in store credit than...
