Such a spacious and cute location with lots of outdoor seatings! Lovely decorated with wall plants and string lights, it's automatically a Yes for a dog mom like me who loves to bring their fur baby with them in all the eating adventures.
The inside of the store is lovely as well with ample lighting and variation of bar-type seating areas by the windows or more private booths. You spot again the plant decoration throughout the store which makes the inside just as refreshing and inviting as the outside area.
Head straight down to cashier area, order whatever calling for you, grab the receipt from with the order number on it from the cashier and feel free to head back to your table. You can grab a cup too and self serve yourself water if needed to. Once you're back to your table, scan the QR code on the table and enter your order #. That way, the staff know where you're seating to bring your orders to.
I love that they have a screen with the menu displayed on an iPad-looking device which each is attached to each cash register. I can easily pick what I want from the menu there without craning my neck to look at the menu on the TV far away :)
We ordered the Chimichurri Steak and Bacon and Chicken Pesto Caprese sandwiches. Our orders came out quickly and were neatly and cleanly presented on a metal tray. I love the portion and the sumptuous amount of veggies in each sandwiches.
My chicken pesto Caprese sandwiches has shaved, roasted chicken breast, fresh mozzarella, marinated red peppers, basil pesto, mixed greens, balsamic glaze drizzle (600 cal) on panini-pressed clabatta! It's juicy and flavorful with a hint of balsamic vinegar and made me want to take one bite after another.
My friend enjoy her sandwiches as well :)
Overall, it was a lovely experience for us. I forgot to mention that the staff was polite and courteous as well which was a...
Read moreThis self described “sandwich market” started in LA and now has dozens of restaurants throughout California. They pride themselves on offering locally sourced, healthy ingredients and unique flavor combinations.
Their Campbell location has a tiny cramped dining room so most people eat on the covered porch or at one of the handful of patio tables. It was a warm January day so my friend and I decided to have our lunch outside. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. Unfortunately, our cashier must have been having a bad day because she wasn’t the least bit friendly or welcoming.
I was in the mood for a sandwich so I chose the Farm Club. It’s a classic club (BLT & turkey) but with the addition of pickled red onions and avocado. It sure tasted fresh but the two slices of Mom’s whole wheat bread were so dry that they crumbled in my hands almost immediately. It was the first time I’ve ever had to eat most of my sandwich with a fork! I was also disappointed that there weren’t nearly as many slices of turkey or bacon as shown in the picture. I’ll go back but will definitely try something else next time. My friend’s Avocado & Quinoa salad was a huge mix of some of the healthiest and most interesting ingredients on the planet. He enjoyed it and said that he would order it again.
“Mendo” is a nice spot if you’re looking for a fresher and more interesting take on the usual lunch fare. Prices are reasonable and the place is squeaky clean. If you have visitors from anywhere else in the country (or the world), take them here for an authentic and quirky California restaurant experience. Where else can you be greeted...
Read moreEveryone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their food. Between us we ordered the banh mi, avocado quinoa salad, the "Not Fried" chicken sandwich, curried couscous, potato salad, and the "Healthiest Side Ever".
My guest's salad seemed like an excellent value, it looked impeccable and you can tell that they value the presentation as well as the freshness of the ingredients. My banh mi was darn tasty and the veggies on it were absolutely fresh. Curried couscous was quite different but also above average and the potato salad, while classic, had a wholesome homemade goodness to it that made it popular at the table. You'd never suspect it was made with veganaise. They will allow you to sample their side dishes to help you decide before you buy; it worked with us lol.
They have a neat little treat at the soda machine in the form of 100% natural sodas made with cane sugar. The birch soda comes highly recommended as a tasty root beer analogue.
Patio seating is a good little setup with very modern low profile heaters overhead. Our group was comfortable on a somewhat chilly night.
All of the staff was noticeably friendly and helpful. Host extremely patiently worked through the menu with us to accommodate allergies in the group and explained their process to avoid cross contamination as he noted the allergies on the order.
From the attitude of the staff to the freshness of the food, to the setup of the heaters on the patio, the overall impression is that the management here takes pride in what they do and has high standards surrounding what they offer to customers.
Full marks; a classic case of you-get-what-you-pay-for. We'll...
