Mermaids — Local services in Carlsbad

Writing this review just to help folks like myself—

Confusingly, there are TWO mermaids across the “hall” from each other. One is typical beachy women’s clothes and pillows and statement necklaces and such, but the other is kid’s toys, kid’s clothes, baby clothes, and infant clothes (hello search terms).

I had been furiously googling looking for baby clothes in walking distance to our hotel when my dumb butt was surprised by June Gloom and our 7 month old peed through his single pair of pants. Google maps had nothing helpful as far as search results were concerned, so we just walked and wandered and asked about baby clothes throughout town and finally found a fun (pricey, but quality) selection of baby clothes a 5 min walk from where we were staying!! YAY!!! But it sure would have been nice if we’d found this store on Google in the first place. So, again for the algorithm:

I recently visited Mermaids in Carlsbad Village,, was looking for a gift for my wife, and I found the perfect store for that! Parking was easy and abundant walking into the store. I was blown away by their displays of great products everywhere and everything from clothing to jewelry, candles, and gift items. I especially loved their Carlsbad themed sweatshirts and bought one for my wife’s birthday. The staff was welcoming and professional assisting me with my purchase, making sure it was the right color in size really went above and beyond the normal retail experience for me. I've shopped at this store several times in the past and always appreciated the variety of sizes and styles they offered. Unfortunately, during my recent visit, I found that the store now only carries one-size items. The staff informed me quickly, which I appreciated, but it was disappointing as the range used to be inclusive.
