We're visiting Charleston for the Thanksgiving holiday. Horrible customer service. Rude and unhelpful employees. Cheap clothes that you could find at any other shop in the Charleston area. Bobbles and Lace has excellent customer service and they allow full refunds.
Stopped in on Wed w/my daughter and purchased a pair of shorts. Didn't appreciate being followed around the store, with never a "can I help you find anything?". They have an employee stationed at the dressing rooms only to watch for theft. They are not there to help you get different sizes, find a cute accessory to go with that dress you're trying on, etc. Went to get a different size for the item at the front of the store, picked it up off the table only to have the employee stationed there take it from me and hand it back to me a few feet farther away from the front door. FYI - if you treat everyone like thieves, the paying customers won't continue to shop there.
Daughter decided she didn't like the shorts so we went back the day after Thanksgiving to exchange for something else. Looked over the receipt, knew there were no returns. When we got to the shop the snippy acting manager told us that because it's a "sale" day they aren't doing any exchanges/store credits. We'd have to wait until Monday, the day after we fly back home. That's not what's written on your receipt. There's no "BUT if it's a sales day.." written on there. The sales rep that sold us the shorts on Wed didn't mention anything about this made up policy, nor were there any signs out by the register. Miss Snippy said she'd make an exception though. Oh, how lucky for us that you decided to make an "exception" and abide by your written policy. Would never set foot inside this...
Read moreI have shopped at Style Exchange for years. They are my go-to boutique and a lot of my clothes in my closet are from Style Exchange. On Black Friday, the line for the dressing room was out the door, so I purchased items without trying them on with intention to bring them back. I am fully aware of their return policy (they do not give any refunds, only store credit which is also ridiculous but I let slide because I love their clothes) but apparently you only have 14 days to make an exchange or get store credit. That amount of time is absolutely ridiculous, but I thought that perhaps since I am such a loyal customer and was unaware of this, they could at least give me store credit. Nope! They said their system physically cannot give store credit past 14 days, so now I am stuck with $200 worth of clothing that does not fit.
Like I said, I love the clothes. I am merely writing this review in hopes that it is seen and taken into account because it clearly shows that they do not care about their customers, and therefore won't care about you (whoever is reading this). I don't want to be a customer at a...
Read moreThe girls working in the store are nice, but not helpful when it comes to store policies. I have come into the store multiple times, the first just to look for a top. I was debating buying a top but wasn’t sure if it would look good for the occasion, but the first salesgirl convinced me to get it. I said “well if it does not look good I’ll just return it” and she nodded her head. I ended up going back the very next day to return it but was told I could only get store credit. Fine. I just went back a couple months later to use the store credit but was told it had expired. These policies are typical to boutiques, however other shops are VERY clear that you will get store credit and that you only have a limited time to use it. The girls may be nice in the store but they are extremely unhelpful in actually educating the customers. The clothes at the store are good quality brands, however there is nothing I can’t find somewhere else For these reasons, I will not be returning...
