We stayed in this hotel from Sept 8th — 10th 2025. When we pulled up outside we were greeted by the valet who helped us in with our luggage and took the car to a secure parking lot. Check in was flawless and incredibly easy. The lobby of the hotel is absolutely stunning. Beautifully and thoughtfully put together. The hotel is spotless. Staff, friendly and eager to assist. |Our room was easy to find. On the way there we found a little gem of a bar space, Bar Daniel - that offered drinks by night and complementary coffee and tea by day. |We were in Room 206 which overlooked the most beautiful courtyard I have seen in a hotel. Double doors from our bedroom led out to this beautiful restful space which was filled with furniture that was perfectly curated for the space. |Our bedroom had a clothes washer and dryer with a cute little jar of wash pods to get you started, a fridge, freezer, oven and microwave and dishwasher with starter pods. It also had a coffee grinder and percolator, a fully stocked mini fridge and snacks on a tray at the side. A toaster, Nutribullet and kettle on the hob were there for those who want to stay in and make their own breakfast. A steamer and hairdryer, a room safe and a make up mirror to name a few more perks. |The colour palette of the bathroom was something I’d love in my own home. Sea-green zellige tiles complemented a beautifully patterned floor tile. Plenty of crisp white towels were provided with lots of extras rolled underneath the Kohler vanity. A wicker laundry basket was provided to throw your wet towels in, a nice change from just leaving them in the bath or on the floor. |The rooftop bar in the evening was a beautiful, trendy space with a cool, laid back but elegant vibe and provided a view of King St. at night. ||As somebody who is quite particular about things in my life, where I spend my money and where I stay, I quite literally could NOT FIND ONE SINGLE FAULT big or small with this hotel. Every single thing seems to have been planned down to the very last detail. Every need for the passing traveller has been thought of and left to help them have the best stay possible. |I know my husband and I would sit out and have coffee or just sit in the beautiful courtyard and say to each other how this hotel has ruined it for everybody else coming after them. We thought the Rixos Premium Seagate in Sharm el Sheik where we stayed last year was the best, The Nickel Hotel on King St. in Charleston blows it and everybody else out of the water. It was an absolutely...
Read moreOur group of 3 couples arrived very early and got a warm reception. We dropped our bags and wandered the city. Before dinner we returned to find our rooms ready - all of us had balcony rooms with a view into the courtyard - giving all of the rooms lots of natural light.||The rooms are new (hotel opened 4-5 months ago) and still pristine. They are filled with homey touches like 2 big bottles of cold water in the very large fridge. Ice cube trays prefilled to chill things down. There's a dishwasher and even a washer/dryer stack. Larger bottles of liquor and other goodies make this hotel appropriate for longer stays.||Bedding was very comfortable and A/C helped cool things off at night. Shower was strong and amenities are Le Labo so everyone smells nicer...||The rooftop bar had nice seating and some food. The 2nd floor bar was closed the night we stayed but were hung out in the courtyard til late with great privacy. ||Apparently there will be a street level restaurant opening soon. Looking forward to that.||Complementary morning coffee and afternoon champagne in the lobby were both appreciated. Of course there are fresh beans to grind into a your own cup in each room if you're...
Read moreExcellent, brand new hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. We came here for our babymoon, first time in Charleston and found the Nickel to be in the perfect location with easy walking distance down King Street to the southern part of the peninsula (French Quarter area, Batter Park etc), or more north to Leon's and Palmetto Brewery etc. (where we found a great live music scene). They also offer complimentary bikes if you'd like ride around town, with locks so you can park and enjoy a meal somewhere (We rode to Hatch for brunch).
We received a welcome drink which we enjoyed their beautiful courtyard. The rooms were pristine, with an awesome balcony setup overlooking the courtyard. They also have a bar, which wasn't operational just yet as we were guests during their soft opening, but it'll be dope once it opens.
Last but not least, I can't stress enough how friendly and helpful and accommodate the staff had been to us. From front desk to valet to cleaning staff, everyone made our trip super enjoyable. We loved our Charleston trip, big thanks to Nickel and we'll...
