Rydables is such a fun way to see the city! I’ve lived here for nearly a decade, but I still learned a ton from Loran during our tour. This tour combines info about art, architecture, politics, history, and culture, plus you get to learn how the wards of Uptown are organized… all while zooming around, looking hilarious and amazing, making people’s day. We encountered locals and tourists alike who were so delighted to see us zipping by on giant unicorns, etc. šŸ˜‚ I really enjoyed that Loran’s tour specifically wasn’t just white-washed history. She spoke with kindness, honesty, humor, and nuance so that we got a full picture of, for example, Charlotte’s role in the Revolutionary War and also the huge contributions of Harvey B. Gantt to our city. Her breakdown of how Romare Bearden park is laid out and how it represents different parts of his life gave me a totally new perspective on a park I’ve probably seen 100 times. She also took us by every gorgeous fountain and around every loop so that we really got to enjoy the zooming factor of the Rydables as well! Loran mentioned that she’s done a Black history tour on the Rydables for a private group, and I’d love to see Rydables offer that widely as an option available for booking. An art-focused tour that goes down Luminous Lane or a queer history tour would also be fun additions. Thanks so much, Rydables!

Why would anyone walk when they can segway?! Rod was an amazing tour guide. My fiance and I had a long layover and decided to try the segway tour; neither one of us had ever ridden a segway. Rod differentiated his teaching of how to ride a segway, which was nice because I was terrified, and he made me feel relaxed. In no time we were riding through Charlotte and learning about the beautiful city. Rod was friendly, knowledgeable, and cautious which made this adventure worthwhile. Whether you live in the city or not, you should really check this place out!

What an amazing company and experience. Lane, our guide was very good. He was knowledgeable and a nice person. Made the tour a great experience. If you never tried a Segway before and have reservations, do not be ā€œafraidā€, they are so easy and food fun. There is a training/briefing to start with and they make sure you are comfortable. I think having a tour like this in a place where you have not been before is the best way to learn about the city. I really enjoyed it and learned so much about Charlotte. Will recommend to anyone!

We had so much fun doing the Segway tour w/ Charlotte NC tours. Starting with Carol helping us to figuring out a way to get our whole group on the same tour. She kept in touch with me to give me updates and did everything she could do to make it happen. To the day of with Rod and Josh our tour guides. Rod called us 15 minutes before our arrive time to let us know to reach out to him if we got lost finding their office. Rod was amazing from that moment through making us feel comfortable right away, was kind, remembered EVERYONES names, trained us, and some of the coolest historic and just fun facts about the city. My one daughter was so in her head and hesitant about her riding that he pulled her Segway along with his to make her totally comfortable. Josh was also amazing, he was so kind during the training and made you feel comfortable during something that we have never done before. He was so friendly and also had some very cool facts and little tid-bits that he added. The tour was very informative and fun and beautiful being brought through so many different areas we had never encountered before. It was a great way to play around and learn stuff. We had a mix of young teens and the parents, and everyone enjoyed what we learned along the way. We felt secure and comfortable from beginning (even before) to the end. They have so many other types of Segway tours that we are sure to do again, and hope to be able to interact with Carol, Rod, and Josh again because they definitely added to our trip. Thank you for making this a fantastic first Segway tour. WE...

This was a fantastic tour. Tremaine was patient, knowledgeable, fun guide and showed a genuine passion for his city that can't be faked. He gave us a great historical tour of the city filled with 100's of facts he reeled off with no cheat sheets. He took photos for us, answered questions and seem to really enjoy himself. He's obviously a popular guy as everywhere we went someone was yelling out to him, high fiving him, shaking his hand or asking him a question. The Segways may look a little daunting but they soon become 2nd nature and you enjoy a tour outdoors without trapsing all over the place and getting sore feet. The lady at the meeting place was also very helpful and despite us running a few minutes late made us feel at ease. All in all a 10/10 tour and I would encourage anyone, local or tourist, to do this...
