Childress Klein YMCA — Local services in Charlotte

Mask policy is not well enforced. Some of the basketball players didn’t even have a mask on. Others on the court and elsewhere working out were not wearing them properly...pulled down under their chin or nose exposed. This branch does not seem to be concerned enough to even remind people of the policy. I observed staff watching the b-ball game and not say anything to those not wearing masks. Very disappointing, especially with the high rates they charge to be a member. Seriously thinking of moving my membership to Planet Fitness a block a way. They charge a fraction of the cost of a Y membership. That being said, the facility is nice and you can get a good workout in. Also nice that a pool is on premise. The COVID hours are very poor. For those of us who enjoy a mid morning or mid afternoon workout, it is not possible. Being a member that only uses the CK Y, the experience is very poor during COVID. Giving two stars is being generous, but the facility is nice. The staff, and enforcement of health policies, need to step...

The Childress Klein YMCA in Charlotte is an incredible facility that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and helpful, making me feel right at home. The gym is equipped with top-notch machines, and the variety of workout options made it easy to see why it’s such a popular spot. The indoor track and pristine swimming pool stood out to me as highlights, offering great ways to stay active.

I’m particularly interested in joining one of their group fitness classes and trying out their water aerobics. The clean and spacious locker rooms, along with the convenient location in Uptown Charlotte, make it an ideal place for me to start a new fitness routine. I can’t wait to become a member and take advantage of everything this YMCA...

One of the staff member who works there is arrogant and a bit of racist. There is something wrong with their system and said my membership is expired. (I have been paying on time for over three years and my membership worked a day before this happened.

The staff member gave me a look like I am being dishonest to them because the system couldn’t match my info of my current family plan. They even told me some people are using other people’s name to sneak in, insinuating me that I might be doing that. I have been working out in this y for over three years. This is really humiliating and disgraceful.

How come they’re showing me the attitude which is their system problem. Really...
