The Duke Energy Building is a stunning architectural masterpiece! The sleek, modern design, combined with its towering presence, truly makes it a standout in the city skyline. The use of glass and steel creates a reflective, almost ethereal look, especially when the building catches the sunlight or illuminates the night sky. The clean lines and sharp angles give it a contemporary feel, while the thoughtful landscaping around the base adds a touch of natural beauty. Whether viewed up close or from a distance, the Duke Energy Building is an impressive sight that showcases the perfect blend of innovation and elegance.

This is the most inefficient company I have ever dealt with which is why your utility rates are so high. I called September 4 for a temporary disconnect to tie in backup generator before the 2025 hurricane season picked up. Their website says "please provide 72 hours notice" for a temporary service disconnect. I was informed that the next available "appointment" to do the disconnection would be NOVEMBER 6th! 2 months later. Now my job is delayed for TWO MONTHS which will be AFTER hurricane season is over. This is absolutely unacceptable. If anyone needs to do any type of work, they will have to wait for 2 months while Duke gets their act together. The scheduler told me they only do 2 appointments per day and none on Monday or Friday. How long does a simple temporary service drop take? 10 minutes to pull the meter? Worse, they have TWO DIFFERENT calendars with conflicting information and they have to check both of them one day at a time so it took the tech 45 minutes to even find something out that far. At a minimum, Duke should put a notice on their information page that shows they are delayed by 2 months. In addition, Duke is the least progressive power company, has failed to adopt new standards and practices, and has kicked the can down the road on undergrounding in coastal areas which has cost them (and by extension their customers Billions) so now they're just going around a cutting down all the big nice boulevard trees in the Southeast so they don't have to trim them. This only benefits their shareholders as it certainly doesn't lower my utility bill to have all my neighborhood trees cut down. So they're wrecking our beautiful communities while providing crappier service and higher rates every year. This state-sanctioned monopoly...

With the announcement of litigation against Duke Energy, I grateful that Duke Energy has the opportunity to be accountable for the tremendous harm that the company continues to cause through the ongoing investment in fossil fuel infrastructure. As a preschool teacher, it's sickening that there are people, with children, and grandchildren, that decide its best to continue to destroy the air, water and other families and children. The most consistent work of supporting children is helping them learn to be accountable to others and the earth. There are those within the company that are willing to sacrifice the health of their own children, families and so-called-communities because they think they are separate from the harm. I pray those that are in position to take responsibility do so. Your children depend on your capacity to demonstrate responsibility and care for...

I think it’s terrible you can add a Connection Charge to every persons bill, but have NO good explanation for what that cost is. That charge is 27% of my bill this month. I want a detailed cost break down of what this charge is for, because the explanation I was given by a Duke supervisor made it sound like the cost of doing business. To me it seems like a super shady way for Duke to line their pockets. I’m angry and frustrated that I have no other choice for service providers and that a HUGE company like Duke thinks it’s ok to have a service charge that high for every single resident. How is this fair when costs are already so high? If I had another option I absolutely would take it. I feel like I’m being scammed every month by this fixed cost I have no...
