This evening (4/7/22) around 5, my daughter & I went in this store to look around because we have never been in there before. One young lady was sweeping floor, I asked her if it was too late to look & she replied that I was ok, she was friendly. Then I saw another female employee unpacking boxes, putting up inventory & another employee (she was older than the other 2 female employees) walking around eating Fritos. I had a t-shirt that I was getting my daughter & she picked out a sign for her friend, we walked up to the counter. The lady that was putting up inventory asked if I was ready to check out, which I replied with a yes. Then the employee that was eating Fritos walked up to check me out, she still had a handful of Fritos. I politely asked that she not touch the t-shirt due to the greasiness of the Fritos, it was a black shirt & grease stains show up. She got very snotty with me then walked away & told the nice young lady that was putting up inventory to “finish this”. When she walked away angrily, she was mumbling, I couldn’t hear but it was obvious that it wasn’t a positive thing. I am appalled about what happened, I had every right to say something to her, the t-shirt was $20. I’m also shocked that is allowed to happen especially with covid. I probably won’t ever come in there again. This was at the Chincoteague store on...
Read moreThere are tons are beautiful places on Chincoteague Island with kind and respectful people to take your family and to spend your money at, but sadly this is NOT one of them.
The customers were friendly but the staff was not. Even basic communication to complete my transaction was avoided. I said hello and thank you and there were no replies. Instead, sharp looks and harsh glances as if to say we didn’t belong in there.
The items I were purchasing were for my girls and we were having a great time during our family time therefore, I made the purchase.
They did not honor the pricing - (sales listed for the price of 2 sweatshirts), therefore we were over charged.
When we left before I could say anything my husband then told me he was watching once he entered the store 10 minutes after us as the 2 girls at the counter sneered at us and stared us down as we looked for items to purchase.
Poor customer service and not honoring pricing is one thing but just being rude and standoffish’ is another.
If the girls at the counter read this they should dissect their implicit bias and practice interacting with people from many diverse backgrounds which is required for life...
Read moreHORRIBLE customer service. The store itself has some cool designs but the employees were inattentive and became defensive when we pointed out that one of the designs was off center. When we arrived employees were folding shirts and we had to ask for help. Once we got help one of the shirts was ironed almost 2inches off center. When I told the employee behind the press that my wife was ok with the off centered shirt but to please make sure the next shirt was centered... I got the stink eye and she said she "didn't do it". The other employee (Kenzie?), who had made the off center shirt, came over to ring us out. She looked at the shirt, never acknowledged it was off center and then asked if we wanted it redone. I told her again that my wife was ok with it I just wanted to make sure the next was correct. When Kenzie then gave me a dirty look I asked her why they were being so defensive, she told me that I was getting "too worked up." Ultimately we had 5 t shirts made and spent over $120. I wanted to walk out but didn't want to ruin our son's souvenirs that they were excited about. I will urge everyone we know / interact with to stay clear of both...
