These people are thieves!! They steal from you twice!! So the books I chose to take were total $35, but when I got the receipt it was showing $39.14. So they theft me $4.14 on that transaction and when I saw the amount I turned back to ask explanations they said that $1.51 is for the credit card fee but there is saying dual pricing!! Yes it is dual pricing indeed!! And I told them you should tell me before, so I can use cash, or not buying at all to you and she responded you can see the notes through the shop, but there is NO NOTE on the shop mentioning the credit card fee. Also the amount instead of showing $35 for the books I took, it is showing $37.63!!!! I asked them that they need to do the math again because there is $2.63 more. And they responded that difference is for the taxes but that is a lie, because otherwise it will show there as tax fee as all the purchase receipts show in all the correct merchants receipts. So they not only gain so much by having free books from people and organizations and selling them with a VERY PRICEY amount, but they also gain by thieving the buyers! I regret it so much that I didn't give them the books back and to have my money back!! But for sure will never go there again to buy something and I will also file a claim to the Michigan Consumers Bureau. Is not that I went poor by doing that purchase, but what it doesn't belong to them it doesn't and they are not supposed to charge me as...
Read moreVisited for the first time the other day and thought it was a nice place, managed to find a copy of this book in EXCELLENT condition for $6. Seriously - it looks like it’s never been read, the spine doesn’t even have wear on it and the only damage is very light wear on the cover edges. The woman working was also very helpful and friendly!
While I can agree to some extent that a few books were a bit high for the condition they were in, I don’t think comparing a small (very small :p) used bookstore to places like Amazon or B&N is fair. If you only care about getting 100% sparkling new books at the most dirt cheap price on the planet then I guess you won’t be thrilled, but if you enjoy searching through older books for fun stuff I don’t think the prices are outrageous and frankly I would rather give the difference in price to a small business than...
Read moreI was visiting from out of state and I had a few books my hands and was saying to my mom that I could only get a few bc that’s all that would fit in my bag. They said they ship! I bought more than 30 books. The shipping was very reasonable (under $10 if memory serves). The prices of the books were amazing IMO. Especially for vintage books. I arrived home to very happy boys with arms full of boxcars children books and those treehouse books. We will cherish them forever! I was very pleased with my time in this store. It was clean, organized and the staff was not only friendly, but attentive. I will 100% make a trip to this store again! Loved it! And if you are reading this: thank you ladies! It was definitely an enjoyable time during my week...
