I am filing a formal complaint about a troubling incident that occurred on August 4, 2025, at Klutch Cannabis, located at 300 Prospect Avenue East in Downtown Cleveland.
When I arrived, a uniformed police officer, not dispensary staff, refused to let me enter the building unless I first provided my driverās license. Once I entered, I asked staff if I needed my medical marijuana card or if they could look me up in the system ā they confirmed either option was fine.
I returned to my vehicle to retrieve my purse, which contained my medical card. When I came back and attempted to continue inside, the same officer went to the back, then returned and informed me that I would have to allow him to search my purse before I could even approach the front desk to place my order.
This interaction was shocking and made me feel violated and singled out. My purse contained medical documentation, and there was no cause or justification for this level of scrutiny. I have visited many dispensaries across Ohio ā always with the same large handbag ā and have never been asked to submit to a search by law enforcement or staff.
This demand felt like an invasion of my privacy, and possibly a HIPAA violation, given the presence of my medical card and related information in my bag. More disturbingly, it also felt discriminatory, as I was treated like a threat rather than a registered patient. Donāt waste your time shopping here as a patient the prices are ridiculous and to be hassled before shopping is...

Klutch's location is perfect for folks that are headed to Rocket Arena/Progressive Field/House of Blues/Jack Casino - a ten-minute walk max from any of these.
First time customer processing was quick and painless. The budtenders were friendly and knowledgeable. Picked up Orange 45 Luster Pod, 1g standard cart, and some orange gummies. Price (with Med card) was just over $100, which qualified me for a free Tshirt with the purchase.
The dispensary itself is really cool; staff said the location had been a record store in a previous life and Klutch leaned into the building's history.
I would definitely go back the next time I'm downtown for an event. Parking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a joke. It took about half an hour for them to figure out how to use the computer to register me with their store. When I try to make my purchase, it turned out that the registration was incorrect. Then, you have to order on their electronic board, but the prices there donāt necessarily reflect the price that you youāre gonna be charged at the counter. Most importantly, if you have a medical card, donāt expect any kind of discount. The most that they do is take off a small portion of the taxes that you wouldāve otherwise paid. Totals out to like $3. Other dispensaries offer huge discounts for medical patientsāoften %20 off or more. The fact that they donāt see a reason to respect their medical clients speaks volumes. Give this...
