We have shopped here several times in the past. However, after today, I'd recommend locals and tourists to stay far away from this place. We are locals that shop locally for most things, from clothing to food. Today we ventured into Bang Bang where I was met by Athan Loukakis the owner, we exchanged small talk then Athan brought 2 different dresses for my wife, neither were her style so she place them both on a rack. Upon looking through the store for another 10 to 15 minutes, we left without buying anything. My wife and I then visited the art gallery and paint with a twist. Upon walking out of paint with a twist, Athan is yelling down the street. Hey, hey, where did you put that dress. I told him I watched my wife put that dress on the rack, and we even showed him where we put it. He still accused us of stealing the dress as he told us he had 5. I then asked to see his video cameras and stock quantitie reports. Athan then tells me that none of the cameras in the store work. This is when Athan started becoming apologetic and offered us the dress for free. I stepped outside and called the Colorado Springs Police Department. Due to a traffic accident that cause I25 south to close, CSPD told us they couldn't send an officer. However, we could file a report in person, which we set up to do on Monday.
As a 21-year veteran and a local that supports local businesses, I would highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. Threatening people they stole from you and then trying to get them to pay for items they never stole might work on tourists. However, it won't work on locals. Google nor the BBB won't be my last stop. Athan and Paula Loukakis, this is 2023. Get working cameras if you plan on accusing people of stealing. You wasted an hour and a half of my life then wanted to give me the dress for free.
I will update this as this story unfolds over the next week. I also learned that Athan enjoys bullying his other local business owners. His property manager and I will be...
Read moreIâm giving one star because âzero starsâ was not an option. Be VERY CAUTIOUS if you choose to buy (or even try on) shoes here. The female owner of the store was very rude. I asked if she had a particular pair of Danskos in wide. She looked at me like I had 2 heads. When I told her I know they come wide because I have a pair, she just looked at me and shrugged. While trying on a pair in reg width, I said they felt a little snug. She told me that Danskos run wide. I guess I was wrong about them feeling tight because she said they run wide. The entire time she was with me, she acted like I was wasting her time. Against my better judgement, I bought the shoes. When I got home, I tried them on again with thinner socks and decided to return them. When I went back to the store, the owner told me they donât take shoes back. She then pointed to the very small note taped to the back of the register, hidden behind a display. I actually had to move the display to read the note. I repeated to her that I never wore the shoes, I just tried one of them on at home with a thinner sock. Her response was, âand you walked around the store in them.â SoâŚI guess youâre not supposed to even try shoes??? She finally agreed to refund my money, minus a 10% restocking fee! Before leaving, I suggested she start telling customers that they have a âno refundâ policy on shoes, or at the very least they should make their note bigger and not hide it behind a display! If this is how they treat everyone, it is beyond me how they stay...
Read moreMy daughter had an unbelievably awful encounter at this establishment while trying to shop for a graduation gift. While on a quiet phone call with me (her mother), the male store owner rudely told her she needed to get off her phone. When my daughter repeated what he said, he immediately raised his voice, declared "I'm not having this conversation," and simply walked away, leaving her completely stunned and upset.
So distraught by this bizarre and unprofessional behavior, my daughter left the store. When I called the store to understand what had just happened. I spoke with a woman who identified herself as Paula, presumably the owner's wife. When I inquired about the store's policy or any law prohibiting paying customers from being on their phones, her response was appalling. She stated it was "rude" to be on the phone in a store and blamed it on the youth of today always being on their phones, even comparing a retail business to someone's private house! When I pointed out the obvious difference between a home and a place of business where customers spend money, she simply hung up on me.
The owners of this store are clearly rude, unprofessional, and have a bizarre and hostile attitude towards customers. Save yourself the frustration and potential for similar mistreatment - do not give this store your business! Their behavior was unacceptable and...
