City of Columbus - Department of Public Service — Local services in Columbus

Columbus use to be a city where people could support local businesses and just pay taxes without having to pay an arm and a leg for street parking. These new meters downtown and in Franklinton are disgusting money grabs. It's hard to support these areas and communities when you have to pay a premium for a parking pay wall. To make matters worse, if you do pay for parking, expect to only get a couple hours before you have to continue paying since the department of "public service" can't let you have a nice night out with your friends. Nope. You need that constant nagging in the back of your head wondering if your meter is running out.

We pay so much in taxes. Why should we have to pay more fees in parking meters? How are you serving the public with these? All you are doing is making "upcoming" neighborhoods exclusive to only the rich or wealthy in Columbus and making it impossible for the poor people who live(d) there to be able to afford it. Apparently, the city of Columbus left a note on our neighborhood basketball hoops which have been there over 10 years and they took pictures of the note Apparently, the officer said the Columbus police officer as they stole all our neighborhood basketball hoops I was never notified. Nobody knocked on my door and asked me to move it. Nobody took any consideration to the young kids that we have handfuls of in our neighborhood. WORST system ever. Parked in the short north, instead of receiving a citation, my car was impounded. I drove family from PA to visit since I just moved and was supposed to drive them home Sunday. I now don’t have a vehicle and cannot get my car until Monday at 10AM. This is the worst system ever and you cannot reach anyone.
