Iโve been to this Diptyque store multiple times and before I went last week, Iโd had consistently good experiencesโ granted, this was before they had moved the storefront, but that shouldnโt change the customer service. I went on my birthdayโ for those unaware, Diptyque has a list of candles one can choose from to pick up on your birthday with another purchase. The list of viable selections for this on the website is pretty extensive: most of the non premium scents available in small are โbirthdayโ choices, and listed on the website. But I was told by an associate (who spent half the time that I was there on her phone or avoiding myself and the other customer) that only three were there, and she seemed to not know which ones they had. Fine, sheโs the one who works here, Iโm not going to argue at that point about which candle scents they do or donโt have. I was rung up by a different associate for the rest of my purchase. Every time Iโve visited a Diptyque, I was asked which samples I wanted with my purchase, or I was spoken to by an associate while I shopped, including at the old storefront for this location. But this associate just picked two samples without asking, one of which was the perfume I had just purchased. I understand that many retail employees are overworked or mistreated by customers, but Diptyque is a luxury fragrance brand. One comes to expect a better experience when one is paying luxury fragrance prices. The stars still here are for the fact that the new storefront is very pretty and spacious, and I had previous good associate experiencesโ this one was just...
ย ย ย Read moreI recently went to this location and the customer service was truly horrible. The sales associates were extremely rude, curt, and pushy right from the beginning. I asked a few questions about some items and the responses I received were either a very curt "no" or a very annoyed "hold on, I'm busy". The store associate acted very annoyed and like we were a big bother to her when we asked about different scents. She kept pushing us to buy a certain product and for some reason was not interested in showing any other item. When I said I was ready ready she just took the item and walked away without a word. At the register she barely spoke to me or made eye contact. While checking out, another customer also came by and started checking out. Their store associate asked them what kind of samples they wanted and made suggestions based on their scent preferences. The staff member checking out my item just threw two random items into my bag without even looking or speaking to me. At the end she told me they ran out of bags and put my order in a small dust bag without handles. The customer next to me, who checked out after me, did in fact, receive a shopping bag. The store associates made it very clear that that not only were we not a priority, we were not welcome. I went to several other perfume stores right after and received a much different experience, where the staff were happy, helpful, and kind. Apparently either Diptyque has a very different standard of customer service, or we were treated very differently for some reason. All I can say is this was definitely an...

throws money
Why am I so obsessed with good smelling things? Why is Diptyque so expensive? Why did one of my bffs tell me about this bougie candle store? Wasn't it enough that I dropped $$ on Voluspa candles?! :'( (lol)
Anyway, I finally splurged after tiptoeing into this store several times in different cities. The gentleman that helped me out was super sweet and great about asking what kind of scents I preferred and recommending xyz candles.
If you enjoy berry/citrus/clean scents (and aren't really a fan of uber florals), try these: Baies (my fav of the 3) Oyedo Mentheverte
TIP: If you get one of these for the first time, let it burn for a good long while on the first burn. You want the entire top to be a melty pool of wax, otherwise the candle will begin to tunnel (the sides won't melt in future burns).
Then they had the audacity to offer free samples with a candle purchase. :x I had the options to choose between Do Son and L'ombre dans l'eau. Supposedly DS is a crowd fav, but it figures that the latter is essentially a copycat of baies.
Def will come back. But maybe after I've saved for a few months... (haha jk jk it's not THAT bad lol).
Yay for pretty smells. /end...
