Apothecary Tinctura — Local services in Denver

I have visited this shop about 5 times in the last 6 months. It has a wonderful selection of quality herbs and tinctures. I’ve recommended to countless people looking for herbal remedies and advice. I have even brought a friend in to pick some things up. I have to say that I agree with another review in the fact that I don’t feel welcomed by the two ladies that staff the desk. They answer questions when I ask and at times have been a bit more helpful but there is an underlying lack of appreciation that I’m shopping there. Today it was even worse, I felt that they were very cold and condescending. The woman checking me out watched me struggle with one hand to sign the cc receipt and didn’t even put the effort to assist me by placing a finger on the paper so I could sign it and give my money! She seemed down right irritated by my presence. I did receive warmth and a lot of great advice from another woman (I’m thinking she is the owner or at least a practicing herbalist). My roommate had just broken her arm and I needed advice on remedies for pain and inflammation. She asked me to wait a few minutes until she was out of session with the client she was helping. Then she came to assist me and was super helpful and kind. She even told me of something I could pick up at the health food store that would be helpful. That experience saved me as a customer. She is also why I gave four stars. I can get many of the things I buy there on line but the location is convenient and I can get things immediately and support a small business in my community, which feels great. But the two woman working today need help on their customer...

I spent over 30 min here today and received truly exceptional customer service. By no means am I an expert, but I’ve been self-studying herbs for a few years now; Akil answered every single inquiry (I had a LOT) with detailed knowledge and grace. My questions ranged from specific plant actions to most effective routes of bioavailability to hormones, digestion, skincare, etc. He’s a true profession and was an absolute pleasure to work with.

I asked questions about teas, decoctions, infusions, body butters, lip balm- you name it- and he answered everything without skipping a beat. Oh, and he also shared info about an array of essential oils.

When I firstly got into herbs, I purchased/ ordered my favorites from multiple sources in search of the highest quality. I would get chamomile, for instance, from five different local apothecaries and online shops. Apothecary Tinctura delivered the freshest, best tasting, and most effective in each trial…I know this, because I recorded my controlled experiments in a journal.

This has been my favorite shop from the beginning; the vibe of the space is nourishing to my soul. Today, though, was my best visit yet; Akil had me feeling like I’d just left an intensive seminar by the time I left. He truly could not have been more helpful, and I am deeply grateful.

A lovely shop with an amazing selection of products, essential oils etc. My husband and I have both had massages here too, each with very good therapists. My complaint is, that I was made to wear a mask during my treatment, but his therapist did not do this with him. When I was face down, there is a very tight woven polyester pillowcase on the face pillow from which to breathe "as protection". This was very uncomfortable. When face down, it is already difficult to breathe with pressure on your midface, and adding a pillow case to breathe out of made me short of breath. When I was face up, I had to put my mask back on, which was also just plain uncomfortable and not relaxing as I was trying to do some deep breath meditation while getting an otherwise wonderful massage. I highly recommend Apothecary reconsider this policy, especially as it is inconsistently applied and detracts from the relaxing experience. If the risk is so high that two healthy people, one of which who is masked (the therapist) cannot be in the same room, they shouldn't be offering this service at all. I have had other massage services in the Cherry Creek area recently and was not...
