Add us to the Homebody Denver fan club! We recently popped in, wait, back up: before entering the store, just walking on the sidewalk we espied many interesting, eye-catching items ... and then we walked in and were like WOW. A treat for all the senses: light + bright but not requiring shielding your eyes; colorful while not being circus-y; full of objets while not being overwhelming; good smells without being suffocating; friendly, helpful staff without being pushy. I'd like to move in! Beautifully curated and staged with unique, well-made / well-designed not-at-all ordinary or commonly seen pieces. A collector's dream shop.
We were greeted upon arrival, even though the store had many other customers; when staff saw we had a family member in a wheelchair they immediately offered to move things so we could navigate. (You will have to take my word for it that this kind offer is rare: easily 9.75 / 10 times we have to ask for help in getting through. Easily.) We were truly touched by this kindness, but the staff we encountered were, to a one, kind, friendly, easy to broach.
I saw a fascinating string of glazed ceremonial beads which was beyond my pricepoint, but further perusal brought me to another string of ceramic beads, this time insanely affordable (and here next to me as I type). My point is: look, and keep looking. Homebody really does offer something for everyone.
In truth I would like to revisit by myself, no family, so I can spend lots of time going through every...
Read moreThis store is a wonderful escape with beautiful items from around the world, mostly Europe. The ladies who work there are very helpful and nice. The owner, however, is a snooty cherry creek lady that lacks customer service skills and was really mean to me and my husband. She admitted that the business was struggling and instead of being reasonable, she made us feel like our business didn’t matter. Sure, we may not be like some of their clients who might spend 10k on a bunch of pillows, but I have frequented their store quite a bit in the last couple of years and have supported them. “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget the way you made them feel.” The owner made me feel like I don’t matter and therefore I no longer support...
Read moreHomebody is an incredible resource and every visit there is inspiring. The product range is a stunning selection of furniture, home goods, gifts, jewelry, and apparel that has been personally curated by the owner; every piece is beautiful, interesting, or useful (and frequently all three). The staff members are so charming and helpful, welcoming all customers with friendly greetings, product or design advice, and lattes. I am an avid shopper and make a point of seeking out lovely things in every city where I live or visit, and I am still surprised and delighted by the new discoveries I make in this shop. Run, don't walk, and treat yourself here! The store can keep a gift list for you if someone else would like...
