I am going to try and make this long story short. We live about 12 hours away, my good friend was going to be in Denver for 2 days and I always raved about this cheese shop so she bought me a gift card with the intention of stopping by to pick up my favorite cheeses and bring them home to me. Right before she gets to town the store closes for walk in shoppers. She contacts the shop and the owner/manager Lisa states "no problem, I will make you a variety and drop it off at your hotel". The hotel was an actual 6 minutes away from the cheese shop.
Lisa reaches out and states she has a family emergency and cannot deliver the cheese but she will ship it. Two days later she tells us both that the package has been shipped overnight. She does not provide a tracking number even though we asked for one. The box never shows up. We do live in a rural area and things are often a day or so late so we waited 4 days, but it has never appeared. Lisa then stated she will send out another box, a week later we got a text that she has shipped a second box of cheese (the first one is still lost to the universe). Despite asking for a tracking number four times, she either wouldn't respond or had an excuse about not having access to her desk, her computer, or the tracking number. When I expressed that not giving us a tracking number was maddening she stated that she initiated a refund for the money spent (despite not having access to her computer) .
I guess it should surprise no one that the second box of cheese has never shown up either and when my friend called her credit card company to dispute the charges, the refund had not been initiated. I have no idea why you would lie about shipping a product that you never intended to ship. With management like this I do not expect the shop to be in business much longer,...
Read moreI would never come to this cheese shop again. I am completely disappointed by the lack of customer service. After calling for multiple days, no one returned my call so I decided to go into the cheese shop today. I arrived with my service animal, and provided proper documentation. And the woman who works there was completely out of line. She told me she would only serve me and my service dog if we were served outside. I felt completely disrespected and embarrassed to be there because I wasn’t able to receive the service I should have. She has violated ADA service animal laws by not allowing service to us in the shop. The ADA law in Colorado states that both state civil rights laws and the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), people with disabilities can bring their service animals to all public places and on all forms of public transportation. The woman who was working today, was 100% breaking the law by the way she treated me today. Since my dog is legally allowed in all public spaces, he is allowed in the store and we should not have been asked to be served outside legally. If you have a service animal be warned, she is rude and not personable. I am a huge supporter of local businesses and as a chef who often procures fine cheeses for personal and professional needs, I cannot support this organization. Well, she might have an amazing selection of cheeses, I wouldn’t ever go there again. Instead I would recommend St. Kilian’s cheese shop. The man there was wonderful. He commented on how well behaved my dog was, gave him treats and treated us so well. They have a wonderful selection of cheeses and additional options to make a perfect...
Read moreWe planned a day of making gnocchi and wanted some fine cheese and prosciutto. We have future plans for a charcuterie party and wanted recommendations on cheese. We didn't want to settle for cheese from a grocery store and don't have a lot of "cheese" experience. We used Google to search for a gourmet cheese shop with hopes of experts to help us. We found this shop close to us and were excited to explore the variety of cheeses available. We visited other small businesses along 6th Ave and found a great bakery and a pet store. We were welcomed into each store we visited and spent $100 at each; except for this cheese shop. We entered, and there was a gentleman talking to a customer. We looked at some items and kinda expected a 'hello' or acknowledgment. We saw a few cheese selections in a glass case and had questions. A woman was sitting near the back on a computer who ignored us. We expected someone to say hello or to say "we'll be with you." We patiently waited for 5 minutes and no one greeted us. The store had one customer other than us it was a slow store. We finally left with no acknowledgment what so ever. We were very disappointed that customer service here was so poor. It is important to recognize that customers who want to shop and then be ignored was disappointing. The whole experience was poor. As a Google reviewer, I felt it was important to share our experience. We won't visit this...
