As a Denver County resident, and having worked in the Colorado legal community for over 15years, I am embarrassed by this courthouse and it's staff.
Denver District Court is dirty, and lacks any competent staff and staff in general. Security employees are rude, and unhelpful.
Some courtroom windows are cluttered with someone's house plants, with wall trim falling off of the walls. The bathroom toilets are clogged with feces and tissue; no exit signage, and everyone appears to be mad at this place.
The Denver County Sheriffs at the alleged help desk were grossly unprofessional and carry themselves like they're sitting in a Lazy-Boy recliner.
If you need answers or help getting around the building, you're on your own, and to me this is a massive security concern. I ended up in the basement while trying to seek out a handicapped exit, and not a single soul was anywhere to be found the entire 20minutes I was able to wander around in there. The security staff doesn't know where a handicapped exit is either.
Clean it up, Denver County. You're letting the courthouse start to look like the 16th street mall, with the staff...
Read moreBiggest flaw with this place is clerks that try to tell you what you need to do almost legal advice. I go in to get paperwork I need to file for custody of my daughter. The clerk instead of doing her job tells me no you need to do this. I almost left but turned around and went back because I am the one who has been researching and talking to others on what to do. Glad I did because what I asked for was exactly what I needed to start my process. I have had four times now walking into a building either here or the Denver PD and instead of letting me get what I asked for or going to where I need to some one at the desk or front door told me what I needed to do instead. Every time It was wrong information and what I was doing was correct. Save your self a trip and tell these people to just allow you to do what you need and not give you advice or tell you what...
Read moreExtremely corrupt. All of them. Magistrates will brag about engaging in illegal conduct. They'll create unlawful and contradictory orders. You'll have illegal orders that aren't even served on you, no way to contest them. Appealate also supports their corruption and will admit to orders being wrong, yet also refuse to do anything to rectify. District court will refuse modification of their illegal orders.
Really challenging when cases involves severe criminal conduct that the police arbitrarily refuse to charge. When the police redirect you to the court, the court also refuses to stop intentionally...
