Honestly the only place I can recommend to absolutely anyone looking of an amazing Brunch without the hustle of this other establishments. Dozens has perfected the Breakfast. The menu is full of solid choices which will fill and please about any picky eater. There’s some of the best baked goods, with various muffins available, you get an English Muffin served with most savory breakfast items and the Apple Butter! I’m guessing it’s homemade but it’s definitely delicious. Plus every meal is served with a quarter slice of pineapple (Vitamins!). Now I was skeptical after have a few perfect, “Not an Omelet”s (a plate of Potatoes layered with chili, cheese and your choice of egg) and “Steamboat”s (Basically a loaded baked potato with eggs but the potatoes are on the side) both served with the English Muffin (; but anyways. I wanted to give lunch a try or three times in a row. I was not disappointed at all, the BLT, the hot turkey & tomato, and the Cordon Bleu were all top notch! Plus those were all served with a side of pasta salad which certainly hit the spot! But reviews aren’t all about the food I know! That’s why we have to talk about the staff. The Owners really have a lot of fun loving and wonderful waitresses and crew serving the cute “home” turned diner. The wait staff has always shown great respect to the customer and give off pleasant and fun energy even on the busiest mornings. P.S. make sure to get a cup of coffee if that’s your preferred brunch beverage it’s never disappointed, I believe they get Novo coffee. Thank you for always serving the Greatest Brunch Experience...
Read moreI didn’t want to give Dozens 3 stars as I was hoping my experience ordering take out was a good one. Besides, everyone that I know that had frequented Dozens and their old location had nothing but positive review. First off, they had no Avocado for my sandwich which was a minor dissapointment though the young lady talked me through it and convinced me that what I was ordering the “Aurora Maul”was a terrific sandwich. So low and behold when I open up the box the sandwich is literally falling apart because its as if the line cook stuck a WHOLE turkey in it, which was not “pan roasted” but just a bunch of thick chunks of lunchmeat, so that definitely irritated me. THEN, i bite into the sandwich and the toothpick isn’t running through the sandwich but is broken off inside the sandwich, so imagine taking a big bite out of the sandwich to have broken off toothpicks laying between the mountains of lettuce and chunky cheese. The cheddar cheese was in blocks and not that of traditional noteworthy slices. Last, the pasta was as dry as a popcorn fart and offered no substance. No silverware included in the bag and the contents inside the box looked like a toddler put it together. I will attempt to give them another chance but it likely will be a dine in experience so that I can have more time to inspect the finished product. Perhaps take out orders are not as prevalent as dine in orders. One thing is for sure, They’ve obviously proven that moving locations closer into the city, they’ve become too big for their britches, as mine was less than a...
Read moreService was okay and so was the food. What was not okay was the hosts behavior, in my opinion. I just didn't leave very satisfied. Below are a few quotes from the hosts on the phone and to other guests: I'm 8 months pregnant and asked the hosts for a glass of ice water, one host went to get it and the other said "you live here, and you're pregnant, and you're not carrying a water bottle?" - she could have been trying to be funny but it didn't land... "We are too busy for to go's the kitchen won't do it" - I feel like if this may have been true, but there was a better way to say it Told a party of 10 "It could be a 45 minute wait or 50 or 75. We don't know" - that group was not upset about the original quote time of "over an hour" and just wanted their name on the wait. After they added their name and went outside the one host told the other host "You're going to die, I tried to tell them it was 75 minutes but they still wanted to wait" A lady asked about how much longer for their table and they said "we don't know. Could be 10 minutes could be a half hour we just don't know" - while this may be true I was just hoping for some more hospitality from the hosts...
Overall the trip was fine, it was just hard to watch rude behavior. I don't feel like waiting 30-45+ minutes due to understaffing was an issue for anyone especially since there was a 5K a block away, but being dismissive and trying to make people leave or not want to wait was not acceptable...
