Bottom Line: Nothing special but food is good for the price. I would recommend.
Atmosphere: Mid-light bar vibe with plenty of natural lighting during the day. Moderate noise level. They play a diverse variety of pop music including electronic. The tables are kind of close together but not too crowded. They have a very nice bar area and outdoor seating.
Food: Happy hour is 3pm-6pm. I took advantage of the $4 Well Cocktails. These are basically any house cocktail with your choice of bottom shelf liquor and a mixer. They were very weak, but I can’t complain about a $4 drink.
The menu makes the food look much better than they actually are. That’s not to say that the food isn’t good, but it’s not outstanding. The burgers just taste live standard burgers. They also have a nice variation of fries, but we only tried one. We got the truffle fries, cole slaw, and stadium nachos for our appetizers. The truffle fries were a bit too strong for my taste. The cole slaw was nice and creamy, but had an odd flavor that was kind of sour, more so than a standard slaw. Our waiter wasn’t lying when he said the stadium nachos were a BIG dish. Definitely enough for 4-6 people to much on before the entrees come out. This was my favorite dish. The slow cooked pulled pork was very juicy and tender. The pico de gallo added a sweet juicy touch with nice texture along with the corn
We each got the “I Can’t Decide” option for the burgers. Instead of one half pound burger, you get two quarter pound “jumbo sliders” of your choice. We got The Perfect Burger, The Ring of Fire, The Durango, and The Queso Fundido. We cut all for burgers in half so that we could try a bit of each. They were all decent, but they all kind of tasted the same when their descriptions were very different. The one exception was The Ring of Fire which was so much spicer than I expected(good thing). That being said, the spiciness was the only good thing that set it apart from the others. I also didn’t like the texture of the patty on that burger.
Service: Our server was very kind, attentive, and friendly. We had some nice back and forth banter which I greatly enjoy when a server can participate in. It makes me feel more comfortable and at home.
Overall, it’s a decent spot, but nothing special. Food is average and prices are fair. I’d...
Read moreI’ll never go back. We live about a 30 second walk from 5280 Burger Bar and I’ve been dying to try it for a while. We walked over last night and sat at the bar. From what I saw there was two girls and a guy behind the bar. The girl with the longer brown hair that was curled was AWFUL. She ran us out of there. I wanted a burger soo bad. We got fried pickles and decided to go down the road to try Las Tequilas which was fabulous! But this girl behind the bar at 5280 was beyond rude and needs to find a job she’s happy at because this isn’t it for her. The guys next to us politely asked if they could pay because they had somewhere to be and if they paid they could leave when they needed to. She took the Toast handheld and literally threw it on the bar and slid it at them. They then asked if they could pay separately and she got real upset about that. Slammed the Toast handheld down and walked off. They had to figure out how to make the second payment. We almost helped them because we actually work with Toast. When she asked us what we wanted she said it just like that, “Now what do you guys want”. WOWWW. The service was the worse I’ve had in Denver ever. I’ll never go back. I don’t even care about trying their burgers anymore. When we asked for extra ranch she almost threw a tantrum. It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in that like 20 minutes we sat there before deciding to get out of there. We both said we don’t want to support this business let’s pay and go somewhere else. Little did this girl know we’re in the industry and we always tip 50% just to make someone’s day. We enjoy doing that. And we enjoy becoming regulars at nearby places to home. Experience ruined and we will not be back. She just missed out on some very good tipping regulars and she needs to reevaluate herself. Treating people the way she did those guys next to us and us isn’t acceptable, especially in this industry. I will be calling the restaurant to talk to a manager when I have time to have a personal interaction about my experience because it really has been bothering me that people go there and get treated this way....
Read moreUpdate: Unfortunately, my old review is no longer accurate. This place is no longer our go-to burger restaurant. We have been back 3 times or so past year, and each time was worse than the last. They always mess up the order even if they are not busy at all and the quality of the food have gone down significantly. During our last visit, we ordered the special burger, which was a truffle burger and smoked tomato sauce. We did not taste any truffle or smoke flavor or any kind of flavor, to be honest. Everything we ordered had no flavor and was very bland. Also, we mentioned several times that we like our burgers well done because I can't eat it if it's pink and all of our burgers came out rare and I mean very rare. We asked for over easy eggs on all of our burgers, and all came out with very crispy white and hard yorks. The loaded fries had barely anything on top of it and had no taste. We had to ask for salt and pepper. The truffle fries had no flavor at all, and when I asked for some truffle sauce, they brought me ranch. We ended up asking for some mayo and ketchup and salt and pepper to give our food some flavor. I'm sorry to say but I believe this was our last visit. Since our last photos are no longer accurate, I will be deleting them.
O my god, yes, pleaseeeeeee . We haven't been here for a while, and I'm not sure why? We loved all the options and flavor combinations on the menu. I remember they had more burger options and unfortunately My favorite was no longer on the menu but I found a new favorite. double bypass was my absolute favorite. We actually ordered Quadruple bypass just for fun. They use very high quality meat and it shows. I eat welldone meat and even the welldone was very juicy and delicious. We also loved that they have the I can't decide option ( perfect for me because I can never decide hahaha) and you can order 2 burgers of the menu and they serve it as 2 jumbo sliders. If you want to try more than one burger here this is your best choice. Overall our experience was fun and delicious here and I can not...
