I love love love this Salon! They are way cool and they have some secret weapons in stylist! My favorite is Britney! Let me tell you a little about my story.
Okay my black sisters and all those with the kinky hair. I have been schooled! I write this review for those of you who are looking like I was. There is a hidden little secret at the Juno salon. She is packaged very differently, let me explain. I am a black woman that went on a hunt in desperation last week for a good black hair salon and a good black hair stylist.
I was searching for someone that could give me a way to stop the relaxers. No matter how good you take care of your hair a relaxer is bad for it, and yet so many stylist give you few options. The one option I was given was to cut off all your hair and go natural. Uh..uh..uh..HECK NO! I am not cutting off all my hair!
So I happen to see this ad for Keratin treatments at Juno salon. The woman I saw in the picture had this beautiful hair. So I called to inquire and I asked do you have someone that does ethnic hair? She said yes. I said does she do relaxers? She said yes. I asked what are keratin treatments? She said it actually is a better option for your hair than relaxers. I said can I get an appointment? She put the stylist on and she said please come in for a consultation first. I went in the same day. As I sat there waiting and a young caucasian girl walked in the room with bright pink hair and tattoos. She looked a liitle wild to me. She walked up to me and said HI I'm Britney. I thought OH NO! what have I done. I decided to shut up, be nice and let her give me a hair consult.
So she told me what she could do for my hair. It sounded good yet I was resistant. Then I thought, ' I wanted a stylist that would give me the flowing hair without relaxers and she can even do the highlights I could never get because of my over chemically treated hair.' All those darn relaxers!
So I said okay. I came back the next day and got the full Keratin treatment 20% off and they gave me the highlights too. I had to wait the 72 hours thing for the keratin to set in. Keep the hair straight, don't get it wet, don't pin it up. It wasn't bad and they give you instructions. I set an appointment for 4 days later to get the style.
Then it happened! I came back she washed my hair and it dried soft and straight. I said you don't have to put an iron on it, she said nope! She even cut it dry which I think is better. She styled it and it flowed and it looks like I have silky beautiful hair! She did it! She gave me what I wanted, flowing hair with highlights! It looks healthy and beautiful! Better texure than a relaxer and feels so much healthier!
I will follow Britney wherever she goes in this city! She keeps up with the latest hair technology too. She now does my hair every six weeks. I have found my stylist wrapped up in pink hair and tattoos! (Now her hair is Blue!...
Read moreDear Juno, I've come up with a term that can be applied to guests such as myself. First, however, let me explain why. I followed Brittany Sopr to Juno because she's been so amazing with my fine, flat, incredibly straight hair--especially during this difficult period in which I've been trying to grow it out from a pixie cut. It was my most recent experience at Juno, though, that makes me want to share this new terminology. I saw Brit a couple weeks ago to even up my hair, after numerous attempts to make an appointment with her and having to reschedule. (Ugh. Life.) Upon walking in the door, I immediately see Phillip, who greeted me as if he knew me well--of course, we'd had several conversations in which he was sweet and understanding to my "Uh, this sucks, but something's come up. I'm going to have to try another day." He offered me water and visiting with me for a good twenty minutes (I was ridiculously early), Brit was ready for me. I got my usual, perfect cut from her, along with great conversation--I asked her to do my hair for my wedding in a month--and felt like a million bucks when she was finished. Tragedy struck when I was back with Phillip, ready to pay for Brit's services. I realized that I was short. Not just a little bit short, either--I was a good twenty dollars short. I was embarrassed and horrified, and told them I would run to the bank and take out more money if they would just wait and I would leave something for collateral maybe my engagement ring and I'm just so embarrassed gosh you guys I can't believe this and-- Phillip and Brit cut my ramble short. Brit said, "Hey, don't sweat it, girl. I know you're good for it." Phillip added, "Just pay what you can today, hun. It's really okay." Now, I will say this as calmly and eloquently as I can: PHILLIP AND BRIT ARE MY EFFING HEROES. I can't imagine going to another salon ever again, considering how great an experience I've always had, and how understanding they've been in my most frustrating moment. It is for that reason, dear Juno, that I have coined the phrase "Junette," and have dubbed myself the first Junette of Denver. I'm sure the Junette movement will grow, due to your unbelievable...
Read moreThank you Juno and more importantly Brooke for ending my salon hopping experience. Ever since moving to Denver over 8 years ago, I had gone through at least 10 salon/stylists until I found Juno. Its difficult to find a salon that has it all- a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, good value, and a stylist who is a good fit for you. Although Juno's prices are relatively high, once you're a client and in their system, they offer great that are similar to groupon/living social deals, where if you spend a certain amount, it is worth double in salon services. They also carry Bumble and Bumble, an amazing line of product which are hard to find.
You can tell the owner has a lot of pride in his business- customer service is a high priority. As soon as you walk in, they ask you if you need $$ for your meter, and then offer one of many complimentary beverages including water, coffee, tea, or my personal favorite, wine! The music they play is funky and eclectic. I was lucky enough to get Brooke as my stylist. Not only is she talented in both cut, color, and style, but she makes sure you are more than satisfied before you leave or she'll recut/color until you like it at no extra charge. I always enjoy getting to chat w/ her while I have my hair done. I'd recommend her to anyone b/c she has a natural ability as far as knowing what color and cut works best w/ your skin tone and shape of your face. Brooke has made me realize that blondes do...
