Just spoke with Scott. Terrible manager. He didnt even care about this review I told him that I would leave. He shouldnt be the manager. As a business owner I would have done everything I could to resolve the very minor issue before having a bad review being placed on my companies profile forever. Waiving a $15 fee would have been nothing compared to having a bad review because of bad customer service. I asked him if he understand the negative impacts a bad review could have and he didnt care. I guess thats what you have when its run by a poor manager vs a caring business owner. terrible front desk/customer service. Try cancelling. Its very difficult. I tried to cancel after they needed to update my credit card twice. One minute they cant do anything....the next they can but a manager has to do it...two minutes before they said the manager cant even do it. They make the rules up as they go along. ..... What a joke. They say they dont have this software for this and that.....they dont have a fax machine or a way to do that. After all the troubles I just wanted to cancel. Well first you need to come in and cancel in person?????? Why cant I just cancel now on the phone or by phone/fax? To cancel I need to give them my updated credit card so they can charge it a few times. If I dont it will go to collections. Then hopefully they really will cancel. When they lie as a business it does nothing to help their reputation. Have they not even heard of scanning forms to clients that functions just like a fax machine. I cant believe it. They are just as difficult to deal with as gyms with multi year memberships. I even told Scott that I didnt have time to cancel which was the reason I had only been to the gym in 3 months or so. I spent more time battling ignorant staff on the phone than I actually spent in the gym. I asked him if he would waive the last months fee they said they didnt collect from my credit card (since I just wanted to cancel). It was becoming too much trouble dealing with them, and driving the long distance. I wouldnt have minded keeping the membership if they werent calling me saying my card wasnt good even though I had just given it to them, and it was good. Maybe they should try updating the card when I call vs losing it.

Β Β Β Read moreI would leave zero stars if I could. I was a member here for several years.. started out ok..very small gym with limited workout equipment. Many of the members need to be taught what gym etiquette is. My last evening working out here, my leg night, a guy was "working out" on the one and only squat rack and was literally there for well over one hour. When I asked him how many sets he had left he basically said I shouldn't wait for it, he'd be there forever... he was doing many other exercises, not just squats... he thought he was funny... so I bought this to the attention of the employee.. he did nothing so I mentioned it again... this member was just basically hanging out there... so the employee called the manager and the manager had the nerve to drive out to the gym and say that I was wrong for complaining. I Never asked for the manager to be called. I tried to talk to the owner and nobody would give me their information. This manager was so unprofessional and rude. He yelled at me for making an issue of this. I pay the same fees as everyone else, nobody owns the equipment there...I've never seen such a childish attempt at running a gym...I'd never recommend anyone go to this gym unless you like sitting around waiting for equipment because of the lack of equipment, and the majority of the people using it are hanging out on their phone or doing a variety of things other than working out. I've told many people about the poor management there. This did lead me to a much better gym, at least one good thing came out of that terrible...
Β Β Β Read moreThe club was very crowded and tiny, so I got a membership at Destin Fitness. Knowing the games gyms play with cancelling memberships, I walked into the club and cancelled my membership and my boyfriends in person.
That was in AUG. I just had to replace my debit card and then starting getting text messages from Anytime fitness that I need to update my payment method. I went in my bank account and see they have been charging me, twice in Sep, again in Oct and now trying to charge for Nov. I thought I would avoid that by going in person to cancel, but I see WA is still doing the same scummy gym stuff that has been going on with gym memberships since the 90's by not honestly and cleanly releasing people from their monthly memberships. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Here goes more of my work day trying to stop the unauthorized charges and get my money back. Super frustrating.
EDIT: my review was not clear. this is for the Workout Anytime in Destin FL. I left there and cancelled the membership when I got a membership at Destin Fitness in AUG of this year. I HAVE spoken to the payment processing company by phone and Destin employees in person and am still, as of today, getting automated phone calls that I need to update my payment method so they can charge me again. I am going into the gym today to speak to them. If I had not cancelled my previous debit card they would still be charging my bank account. The membership process is...
