I've been in the market for a new vacuum cleaner because my top of the line Dyson has been a disappointment since I took it out of the box. It sucks when your vacuum doesn't suck.
I did a lot of research and discovered the German brand Sebo. The thought of a canister vacuum and vacuum bags kind of threw me back to my childhood in the 80's, and I thought, did our vacuums in the 80's actually suck without the magical cyclonic action of the Dyson? Yeah. The answer was yes.
I read a lot of reddit threads about vacuums and buy-it-for-life appliances, and Sebo kept coming up. My local dealers were not incredibly friendly and kept trying to steer me away from the Sebo I wanted--the Airbelt D4 Premium because they'd have to order it, and they preferred to sell what they had in stock. They were also not willing to offer any type of incentive.
I ran across The Cleaning Supplier on Reddit, and I'm glad I did. I was able to ask questions and get speedy answers via text (which I appreciate because I'm on the phone all day for work, so calling can be cumbersome). My machine was discounted and they included some nice extras and bags. It was shipped out the same day and arrived quickly.
I have long hair and have 4 kids with long hair. We also have a Samoyed. Our house has carpet, low pile area rugs, a ton of hardwoods, and some tile. My Samoyed's soft fur sticks in the low pile area rugs like it's velcro. With my $700 Dyson, I'd have to go over those rugs with 5 or 6 passes to get the fur up and it didn't even get it all up. If I tried to use attachments, the suction was so dismal it was easier for me to just pick debris up by hand. The only thing it sucked really well was the edges of my small kitchen throw rugs into the machine burning up the edges.
The D4 took care of the Samoyed hair in one pass. After going over floors that didn't look terrible, the brush was wrapped with long white dog fur and people hair, but it was super easy to clean. This is a top notch machine and the top notch service from the Cleaning Supplier of Draper matches 100%. I highly recommend the Cleaning Supplier and the...
Read moreBought a new Electrolux power head and hose system for my central vac from these guys. Two months later it stopped working. Returned it to them on Jan 6th and the purveyor asked if I'd like to wait or leave it. Told him I would leave it and pick it up the next day. Couldn't get back in until the 8th. I was told the switch in the handle was bad and he would need to order a part. I asked; "So you haven't ordered the part yet?" with a stutter and a hesitation he claimed he had ordered the part. It was obvious he was lying. Said he would call the minute it came in. Never heard from him. On the 17th I called to see if it was ready. Woman voice there said she would check & call back. No call back! On the 21st of Jan I stopped in around 5:30 pm. Upon seeing me come through the door he quickly said the part just came in and he was picking it up first thing in the morning and it would be ready the next day. Sure enough the next day I get a call from a woman voice who says my power head is ready. When I picked it up, my conversations with the lady gave me understanding the she in fact took the power head and hose system up to the Electrolux Service Center in Bountiful just that very morning and they fixed it in a matter of minutes. Here's the lie: The purveyor never did order the part. He knew all along that the unit had to be taken to the Electrolux Service Center to be repaired under warranty and because he was either unmotivated to do it, or just didn't care about his customer, we had to go 2 weeks without a vacuum. If he would have just told me to take it direct to Electrolux I would have been fine with that. It is obvious this goofball lacks the maturity and disciplines required to run a business. He will not make it in this business. Stay away from this place unless you just need to buy some disposables from them. Their service sucks and their disciplines of caring for their customers is...
Read moreI just had a great experience purchasing a vacuum from Dewey at The Cleaning Supplier. I went in to have my 13 year old Hoover Platinum repaired... again for a broken handle. This one had been a decent vacuum but the handle broke in a similar spot multiple times over the years. Dewey explained he could no longer get the handle. I figured it would be hard to get because it was hard to get when it broke a few years ago and the labor for the repair added up to about the price of that old vacuum. Dewey explained how I could probably fix my old vacuum with some JB Weld but I had been interested in a more powerful vacuum anyway. He listened to what kind of vacuum I needed and showed me a few options. He was in no way pushy or salesy. I ended up buying a nice Riccar vacuum from him and he hooked me up with a great deal and a great vacuum. I went home and vacuumed most of the house to try it out and the bag was about 20% full after the first use even though we vacuum regularly. This told me the new vacuum was much more powerful than out old hoover platinum. The new machine is very well designed. I accidentally sucked up a string from a hoodie and, as advertised, the brush stopped and did no damage to the hoodie or the vacuum and it pulled right out. It has a long cord and on-board tools which our last vacuum did not have. Spencer was very knowledgeable and let me tryout several vacuums. I checked out prices online later that same day and I know I got a great deal from The Cleaning Supplier! I am happy that if there are every any problems whatsoever I'll be able to take it back to them and they will take care of it. They carry low-end vacuums, mid-range, and high-end. Plus lots and lots of other cleaning supplies. The machine he sold me is a pet specific model and is triple filtered. It got our stairs cleaner than our old vacuum ever could. I highly recommend The...
