Micheals store is my fav go to art store. But when I visited this store at Dublin, CA I had a appalling customer experience at the custom framing section. I had 2 large maps that I wanted to frame, and I waited for the customer before me to finish to be helped by āDianaā. She told me that my only option was to buy a $200 frame for each of my maps as they were oversized. I asked her if she had anything more affordable and pointed to a simple frame displayed nearby. She was extremely rude while telling me that I was standing at a ācustom framingā section and that they donāt make ācheap framesā used only quality material and that I need to look elsewhere for a frame like that! I was shocked by her tone because it sounded like she was trying to show me down! Seemed like her tone was racially motivated as I saw her being sweet to the customer before me (who was of a different color). I was pleasantly greeted by the workers at cash registers which I must add were all completely busy. Yet both of them greeted me promptly. As I am searching through the many isles of art supplies browsing endlessly, I am helped by a young woman by the name of Rebecca. You can very quickly assume she is an artist herself. Due to the vast amounts of knowledge and passion she has for any types of art. I proceeded to ask some questions about painting as I have been interested. She went above and beyond with helping me choose everything from brushes to what to brush on. She also showed me a small piece of her outstanding art. Over all the store was a lovely experience for just getting supplies. I actually enjoyed my time in the store for a change. There was another order in front of me and without hesitation the person blowing up balloons said he wouldnāt have time and I couldnāt blow up my balloons. I was in store well before closing and there were multiple associates available to help Iām there before they close, and they were unwilling to help but recommended that I take my business elsewhere to dollar tree. I drive to dollar tree just to find out they donāt blow up balloons that were not purchased there. They sent me on a wild goose chase rather than just taking the extra time to help a customer that shops at Michaelās regularly. Itās disappointing that even when you are in store and they are suppose to help you, they refuse to and make excuses so they donāt have to stay late to help the customer. 1 unhappy customer and zero balloons inflated so now I will have to take my business to Target and buy more than enough helium to never have to go to Michaelās again for any of my...
