The Farmers Hen — Local services in Elizabeth

Not a review but some questions. Why , if your hens have “ free range “ do you trim their beaks? No matter how young they are or how minimal the trim it is a painful and traumatic procedure. Not very humane. Also, what happens to your hens when they no longer produce eggs? What happens to them? I don’t suppose they live out their lives peacefully and humanely in a pasture somewhere. And, there is the issue with male chicks who obviously aren’t egg layer. . What about them?? Are they treated humanely?...

I bought these eggs for the first time & it will be the last. These eggs are pale yellow, not even a hint of orange. This is ridiculous for the price. A complete rip off. These eggs are no where near pasture raised and we’re supposed to believe farmers? Wow is all I can say. People pasture raised, eggs are orange, not yellow. Don’t be fooled I would give zero...

I just bought my first dozen. I am accustomed to farm fresh eggs...these were NOT. Also, 2 of the dozen were either cracked or broken in the box. After reading the other reviews here, it seems my suspicions were right. I'll be letting my local grocery store know...
