Neighborhood Treasures Thrift Shop — Local services in Englewood

Deeply sad and disappointed to be writing this review, as I have loved coming here for a quite a while now. After today, however, I unfortunately do not think I will be coming back.

Normally the folks working here are quite pleasant. Grumpy, but in an endearing way. Today, however, I was mortified and upset by the behavior of one woman in particular.

I witnessed an interaction between her and a customer who only spoke Spanish (no English). After the customer left, this woman dove into a monologue of how she would never move to a country where she didn’t know the language. She continued to talk about immigrants are bringing in disease and crime.

The only reason I’m not leaving one star is because the other woman working here, who I’ve seen multiple times, seemed to have slightly more compassion for immigrants in the United States.

I will say, I found this attitude quite off-putting given the supposed values of this place. They offer free food to people, so I assumed part of their intention is to support members of marginalized communities in Colorado. To offer help while holding harmful stereotypes doesn’t make sense to me.

I simply can’t say enough nice things about this thrift shop! I needed to make a donation after my garage sale and it ended late and they stayed for me a little late after closing to take my wonderful things to serve the community at large. They not only help overseas in Guatemala, but they’re helping locally for men and women shelters, if you have items to donate please come here and not the big corporate machines!!! Thank you one appreciative...

The people are awesome, prices have gone crazy.I have shopped here since the 70's I stopped back in recently and was looking at some items and one of the employees informed me that they look all of their items up on the internet and price moreless retail. The lady kept saying yeah but they go for this much online. You know not everybody is a reseller some of us purchase items for our own. I think I will mark this store off...
