Preface: writing reviews over one experience holds little overall weight but with that said.
I’m very new to archery, excited to get started in a new sport and ensure my equipment is safe and tuned appropriately. I made an appointment scheduled today for a set up and tune. When I made the appointment I provided the make, model, draw length and specifications asked for by the staff with whom I spoke to make the appointment. When I arrived, I was met with immediate confrontation with the employee making comments about what I didn’t know about my bow (first bow I’ve ever owned). Specifically, when asked what model of prime bow and I hestitated, he filled the time by stating “is it a CT5? 7? 8?” I opened the case and immediately he said “don’t even take that bow out, that’s the wrong sized bow”
He then took some hasty measurements and without having me draw the bow he stated, that’s a 28 draw and way to small for you. When I answered that my understanding was that it was a 29 draw he said “I’ve been a professional shooter for many years, I would know” and “you definitely need at least a 28.5 and these cams can’t be adjusted to you.” Despite this, given how much of a novice I am, I obviously trusted this person and disregarded how rude his comments were.
After limited conversation, the employee went on to say that he would not tune or adjust the bow for me but said he could offer 10% off on a new bow and that it would be far superior to the bow I arrived with. When I asked if I could safely operate the bow I have if adjusted and could reasonably hunt and harvest an elk the employee stated “I don’t sell ethics here” and then repeated this sentiment when asked to clarify what he meant.
I left the store feeling embarrassed and self conscious about this new sport I hope to embark upon. When I arrived home I looked at the serial number and bow specs, it clearly states that the DL is 29” and when researching the cams, they can be adjusted.
Overall being someone passionate about fishing, hunting and wildlife in general I am just very disappointed with the service and overall approach toward dealing with a hopeful potential patron. I don’t wish I’ll on this company, only that this review might bring to light an issue with the staffs approach to those entering their business desiring help and guidance when entering an...

Update: I do understand the negative reviews. First visit was for my boyfriend, he got a compound bow and spent somewhere around $800, got excellent service. Our second visit was for me, I wanted to start with recurve, not as expensive but still would have been a $300-$400 purchase. We arrived at the location and told the girls at the front desk that we have 2 lanes reserved, a private lesson and that I wanted to buy new equipment. When I made the appointment, I made sure to specify all the details. The two girls that were there, were not paying attention to anything we were saying and gave me rented equipment saying “just try this first and see how it feels” I reluctantly agreed. As they put me with a group of people then herded us to the lanes, and told us to shoot. I specified multiple times that I wanted to buy new equipment and that I had a private lesson, they kept ignoring me. I asked for an arm guard, she told me to try without one first, I agreed and get hurt, ask again if I can have one, got told “just keep you elbow out”. Of course I hit myself again, this was my first time, there was nobody telling me anything. My boyfriend offered me his arm guard and because I was upset, I said out loud, for other people to hear me, “no, I think I need to bleed a little more before they can give me one” then I asked if I can pay for one, I was finally given an old one that I probably shouldn’t have put on a bleeding scrape but I had another 50 minutes of the rented lanes. Left there in a horrible mood, those girls should not have been there alone. The owner tried rescheduling a few time which I would have been happy with, however he did it knowing that they don’t have recurves for sale? Then why reschedule? This was at the beginning of march. It is currently May 17th and “still waiting” for a call from the owner 🫠 Thank you for completely discouraging me from wanting to start this hobby with my partner. I would not have changed the review to a 1 star, if I wasn’t promised a call once the bows were in stock, which I confirmed over the phone today that they arrived...

Owner was GREAT good service - fast but took the time to explain the little things after checking over a second hand bow I got and adjust in the draw and added sight amongst other things
I will definitely be back
Patrons in the shop were great as well as I waited- conversation with an older gentleman very passionate about archery and listening to Pete made for a great time
*I am leaving my original review below for transparency and because there’s no eliminating the incident that happened, but having dealt with the owner today, great guy and everybody in the shop was generally welcoming and very informative. Not sure who the bad Apple was. I spoke to, but I’m a strong proponent of one bad apple doesn’t spoil a bunch.
Also to note I came by last week one night briefly and there was a younger guy (teenager) and a lady at the counter. They were both great as well. ———————-
Called and asked if I needed an appointment to get a new bow tuned up (since online they have bow labor appts but no time slots)
Guy responds uhh why would you need an appt it takes 5 mins I said oh well I was just going off your site since it has a section saying “book for labor”
He says idk what you’re talking about
Ok man I then say ok well is there a good time I can come in to get paper tuned - he says very condescending what do you even mean by “paper tuned like what”.. come on man you work at a bow shop you know what paper tuned is idk why this guy had an attitude
He says what bow do you use if you even shoot
I just hung up - not cool man very condescending, rude . I’ll drive to Henderson...
