IHOP — Restaurant in Eureka

I decided to treat my girlfriend to her favorite place after a long day. She was very excited to get the new pancake of the month (chocolate covered strawberry) I went inside to pick up our take out order and was excited to present my girlfriend with the meal she’d been anxiously awaiting. It was not until we arrived home that we realized an atrocity occurred. I moved her pancake onto a plate and poured the strawberries on for her. They looked and smelled delicious! I then poured the chocolate on top. Not even a minute later, I discovered a strange odor coming from the plate. It smelled extremely sour, but seeing as though it wasn’t my food and I hadn’t had it before, I decided maybe it was normal? Upon smelling it closer, it grew to be more bitter, it smelled as though I had just opened a fresh jar of green olives. I excitedly delivered my girlfriend her breakfast for dinner despite the odd odor filling my studio apartment. It was 30 seconds later that I turned to her in tears. They had mistaken chocolate sauce for bbq sauce. My girlfriend, so excited for her wonderful chocolate strawberry pancakes, took a large bite of strawberry-bbq sauce cakes. We had to throw out everything, and I had to share my panera mac n cheese with her instead. I have provided a photo of the pancake, if you look closely, the “chocolate” sauce just doesn’t look right. Yes I want to be straight up with Humboldt county. I thought very highly of this place. I was hired as a cook and I wasn't really given the opportunity to get the training I was looking for. Then I noticed how things where looking from the inside. I can honesty say that they messed up by letting go of a cook who had the most experience there then most people just because she couldn't work weekends. Shame on you now they are serving cold food that is not cooked. Management is not the best. I'm glad I don't work there anymore. Now I see for what it is. Please don't eat there I got sick from eating their food. And the dirty dishes coming out of there. I don't wish anything bad on anyone. However a place like this should be looked into. Health department where are you at. Humboldt just be careful not to get sick. I can say that there are some good people that I know that work there. Still good food needs to be cooked and prepped right. Services needs to be on point with the customers. Long waits for food is not is not right for customers.
