My friend bought a dress from Memphis location and attempted to return to this location after only a week had passed. Tags were still attached and she still had the receipt. Lady at the register said that she thought the dress had been worn since there were light wrinkles on it. From the car ride? Mind you this dress was purchased for an event in September and all it had ever been was tried on. Although it reflected nothing of corporates return policy, the “manager on duty” wouldn’t accept the return because “they have to be cautious about social dresses”? I don’t see that reflected anywhere on corporates rules of returns. They made my friend cry and it took everything in me not to make a scene in this store. The original store it was purchased at was contacted and she was told they would without a doubt accept the return, which warrants another 2 hour drive. Avoid this store at all costs. These women are judgmental and cruel.
Update: dress was returned to Memphis Dillards effortlessly. If there is an issue it is because of this location and these employees who think they can make up rules by their own judgement...

I explained that it was very important and that if they could not I would just go ahead and purchase it. Then she comforted me by saying no it would be there when I came to pick it up the next day. I then confirmed with her again that they will not restock it until close the next day and she again said she would put my name on it and I had nothing to worry about. I returned to purchase the dress and it was no where to be found, my daughter went home crying because it was so hard for her to find a dress. We still haven't found one and I am still really disappointed in Dillard's. Had the salesperson not made it so reassuring I would have just went ahead and charged the dress. Not to mention I repeatedly asked her was she sure. Not good. And also when we returned the store is so hot because no AC in the building and it smells like bad plumbing. Read moreI felt personally attacked by the sales associate! I had bought a FRYE purse and returned it after just a couple of days due to not realizing how bad it scratches so fast! I feel if I pay over $300 for a purse I want to be happy with my purchase! A few days later I came back in to purchase me sunglasses and the girl (don't know her name:( ) was like that purse you brought back was so damaged we couldn't resale it! ( the purse had no damages at all! Just natural scratches that's why I didn't like it!)If you bring these sunglasses back you will have better not take stickers off of it! I told her that's what a receipt was for and yalls policy is a 30 day return one! I felt degraded and judge for something she just wants to pick at someone about! I will not be back at this store just bc of this one woman who should be trying to make sales and help people feel confident than to be judged and belittled!!
