Though its too early to give this very new month old store with accurate feedback, but I am starting with FIVE STAR as my little contribution as review for their new business.
Coming to competition, Sabji Mandi is worst store, and Apna Bazaar it far away from Hurstbourne Acres area. So main competitor is Patel Brothers, and I will say its tough to complete with them. I am buying from them over last 4-5 years, and I hardly had any bad experience apart from price hike of some items. Thanks to Jay Hind, I believe because of them P/Brothers is trying to control price of its goods. Good for customers.
I wont agree if someone says price is lower in JH than PB for everything. May be 7-8 items have less price in JH to attract customers. But may be I will still go to this store sometimes to help this new business.
Suggestions -
Build a live counter for snacks, like samosa and tea near one of the glass wall (check Whole Food's seating arrangement). Specially this winter time. In summer time - cold sugercane juice, fruit juice etc. Nobody like to go to a restaurant just to get samosa and a cup of tea, for eg. But if they get that from a shop where they are already in to buy others stuffs, they will enjoy it.
If possible keep live fish, Fresh chicken, Goat meat, Chicken eggs Duck egg directly from local farms etc (I bought from locals a lot and those are much tasteful even than the Organic ones from store). Even a small...
I have been shopping here almost every week since this place opened and never once have I had a less than wonderful experience with the store and the people involved with it. However, this review is to share just how kind Ken, the owner of the store is.
After I did yet another curbside pickup the other day, my car batter suddenly gave out without any warning. I was all but stranded when Ken, who had already done the curbside delivery noticed my problem and left things inside to come help me out, without me even having to ask for it.
He brought soda from his store and cleaned up the corrosion in my battery that had caused an issue. Then procured a jumper cable from his friends (shoutout to the owners of eggholic located next to Jay Hind) and had them come jump start my car.
There are many stores and many pros and cons, but I am a loyal customer here because of the kindness Ken and others at this store have consistently shown me.
Thank...
Read moreI'm never stepping foot into nearby Patel brothers ever. This place is very clean, well organized, spacious and the staff is very humble and courteous. You can stay in and check out different aisles for as long as you want unlike patel brothers where there's no space to even move the cart. I'm happy that this place opened up in my neighborhood. They have all the varieties that you need and many new items that I never saw in other stores. The staff constantly makes sure you find everything you need. They are new so they're adding new items as they get a chance. I'd highly recommend switching to this location for Indian groceries. I hope this place stays as clean and well organized as it is....
