Starting off, my wife and I noticed 2 employees not wearing masks as mandated by our State Governor. So you know, I had to ask why. The young lady behind the bar counter who served me my beer said, she had a doctors excuse, really? Since we had a 30 minute wait for a table, I thought I'd engage her in conversation since we found seats at the bar. Come to find out after baiting her, she feels everyone should have the right to choose whether are not, to wear a mask and not mandated. Well, I thought, I wonder if she told her manager this?Hmmm...sounds like she lied, right? The food was delicious; however, the portions were very small. In other words, I had to order 2 entrees. Yes I know, go figure. For an example, my catfish basket was listed on the menu as 3 fillet and your choice of side. I ordered the onion rings and thought to myself this will be great! No not quite...the fillets where sliced in half...yes, I know, who does that? Every fish restaurant in Louisville offers customers full fillets but not Pier 17, I got 3 slivers; Strike 1. Next, instead of receiving a healthy portion of onion rings, I only got 5 small ones; Strike 2. So you see, I had to order another entree which I chose the shrimp basket...needless to say, that was worse. 8 small shrimp. The biggest thing in the basket was the cole slaw, Strike 3! Horrible presentation! My wife experienced the same which is a whole different story. Needless to say, this will be our...
Read moreThis place would be a 5 star had it not been for the odd colored hair hostess. I am from Louisiana and a proud 100% Cajun. I travel all across these United States and whenever I go to a different city I always look up any "Cajun" restaurants to see how close to authentic they are. I walk in and the hostess looks me up and down and I ask about being seated. She proceeds to tell me that "this is not a all you can eat buffet" and turns a menu my way and places her finger to the price section. Now, I am not wearing an $20,000 suit, just jeans a tee short and ball cap BUT I am sure there is nothing on that menu which is out of my price range as all of her actions and attitude applied. She then told me to sit at the bar. "You can eat there." OK. I am a single person and would hate to take up a 4 top and take away any wait staffs tip ability, though I do tip 25% or better depending on the service. The bartender heard my obvious accent and picked up on the fact I am from south Louisiana. He was very busy and very good at engaging with me and taking care of other customers and preparing drinks for the seated tables. I had the fried frog legs and fried shrimp. VERY GOOD. If you can get by the hostess with the rainbow hair style and her rude disposition you will enjoy this place. Cajun approved. Saturday...

Tonight 20 of the Residents of Swan Pointe HOA went to Pier 17 It had quit raining just at the right time. We were seated at a long table just inside the door. Our server tonight was Todd. We started looking at the menus while Todd took the drink orders. There were some people that had never been there before, so most of us were pouring over the menus. They have Calamari, Fried Oysters, Crab 🦀 Legs, Shrimp, Seafood Boil, Lobster tail, Lobster Rolls,Fried Gator Tail, 🐊 Scallops, Fried Frog Legs, Mussels, Catfish, and Cod Fish. 🐟 Todd took the food orders and brought back Seafood Bread for us to eat while waiting for our food. The food came out pretty quickly. I went around taking pictures for you to see. I’ll try to remember what they told me that they had ordered. We had a really nice time talking to our neighbors and eating our sea food. There was a pretty good amount of people eating in the restaurant. It was clean. They had a lot of decorations hanging around to add to the atmosphere. Our server seemed to have worked there for a while, he knew what the dishes were and who ordered what. Everyone I asked said they enjoyed their meal and had a...
