So here's how this place works.
Your party is seated at a table with individual burners for each person and a larger grill at the center of the table. The waiter then gives you a choice of having access to the hot pot menu, the Korean barbecue menu, or both. There are different items on the menu, with a little bit of crossover.
If you choose to have access to both menus, there's an upcharge on what everyone pays at the table. At the time we went, it was $5 more per person. If you all choose to only have access to one menu, it's the standard price per person.
The waiter then logs your decision in an iPad tablet sort of thing, from which you get to order your meal components. You can find their selections of meats, veggies, and starch options for the two menu types on their website. Simply select the options on the tablet, and after you've put a batch together, you hit another button to send your selections to the kitchen. After a few minutes, another waiter (or sometimes a food delivery robot) will come to your table with a cart and deliver to your table all of those items that you requested.
Depending on what menu options you chose, the waiter can show you how to operate the heating elements at your table. Everyone has their own burner for their hot pot broths, and the big grill in the middle is shared.
Other than that, there is a buffet table with other options to choose from, such as more starches, sauces for dipping or grilling, vegetables, and small dessert options.
You have a time limit of 2 hours. If you go over that, you may be subject to an additional charge. However, I doubt you'll need that long. The meats are cut thin, so things never take long to finish cooking. The vegetables are already safe to eat as is, so it's just about how hot you want them to get before you eat them. Also, the ordering tablet stays at your table the entire time, so you get to just keep ordering stuff to cook for your entire stay.
If that sounds like a fun activity for a meal, go for it! I found it to be a very fun version of the shared cooking experience, and the ingredients were of excellent quality. I'll definitely be going again for future special occasions.
Also, the robot waiter was playing music from the One Piece anime while I was there, so... there's also that if...
Read moreThis was one of the most disappointing, dissatisfying, and unappetizing dining experiences of my life. This was our first time here, but not our first Korean Hot Pot & Barbecue experience. We were very excited to try Kpot, as we are new to the area and on the hunt for our next Hot Pot spot. The quality of food was questionable, to start. We found dirt and a dead bug on the bok choy. Which eludes to unsanitary back of house practices if they are not doing the bare minimum of rinsing produce. We were given a stack of plates, of which the top plate was dirty. The floors all around us were filthy. I kept stepping on food that was under our table, and had a lovely view of a table next to us which had food and trash all underneath. There actually was a gentleman walking around ‘sweeping’ the floor, but he was doing it aimlessly and we watched as he purposefully ignored the trash under that table and swept literally nothing into his dust pan. Our barbecue experience was a train wreck from start to finish. We assumed the grill pan was non stick, and after the first round of food, it all stuck and charred to the grill. We asked our waitress about this, and the response was they normally have a non stick spray or butter, but they are out. We were instructed to use olive oil from the sauce bar and were given a second grill pan. We poured an obscene amount of oil on the grill to coat it well, and the same thing happened. The barbecue food was completely inedible. We told our waitress this, that the food was continuing to char/stick to the grill and was hard to cook and completely inedible. She stated she wished she could give us a discount and charged us for the barbecue anyways, even though we couldn’t eat any of the barbecue food. We tried to eat the hot pot, but had completely lost our appetite at this point. We only ordered one round of food. We spent over $100 and left hungry at an endless buffet. We will not be returning, and we will be reaching out to upper management/franchise owner about...
Read moreSo excited to have a cool hot pot spot in Louisville. The place is huge and incredible with robo servers and a sauce bar. Putting my notes down below
for vegans : tomato broth and mushroom broth are suitable. Tons of veggies, noodles including sweet potato noodles and soy options nice big sauce bar in the back. It’s complimentary so you can pick some appetizers, make your own dipping sauce mix and enjoy the fruits and jello after the meal there is a icecream freezer on the side and that’s complimentary too (included in price) they are priced for lunch and dinner, hot pot or bbq place is nice, clean and very modern there are iPads on your desk to order I believe you can order as many items as you like. I didn’t go overboard but easy to go overboard luckily quantity is fair. They bring you a small portion of stuff which is perfectly suited for one person and you can order more if you like. your server can explain the concept you can ask for more soup broth I had tomato base and it was really delicious
Now the only thing I didn’t like was my sweet server was really nice but a bit in a rush to have me pay the bill. Like I was midway enjoying my meal while she was like are you ready to settle up?? And I was surprised cause I’m not even half way through. It felt like she wanted me to finish and leave and not sit and enjoy. Any how, I did pay and told her I need my time to finish up. I didn’t like being rushed to pay. Like if they prefer advance payment, maybe say so in the beginning instead of interrupting someone to pay mid meal… strange
Besides that the place is incredible, I’m very happy to have a nice...
