Stop F8 at GalleryONE is hands down one of my favorite Water Taxi locations in Fort Lauderdale! Conveniently located right on the Intracoastal, it offers so much more than just a dock—it’s a perfect starting (or ending) point for a relaxing day in the city.
There’s a beautiful waterfront patio bar with fire pits and tropical seating—perfect for sipping a drink while you wait for the next boat. Inside the hotel is Vue on the Water, an upscale yet welcoming restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Intracoastal, and a great indoor sports bar with TVs, AC, and plenty of seating.
This stop is also walking distance to: • The Galleria Mall (just across the bridge) • Fort Lauderdale Beach (about a 10-minute scenic walk) • Tons of excellent restaurants including Seasons 52, Cooper’s Hawk, and Blue Moon Fish Co. • Water Taxi’s full-day hop-on-hop-off access to places like Las Olas, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, and Shooters Waterfront
There’s always a fun crowd hopping on and off, and the crew is friendly and helpful. You can scan the QR code right at the stop to buy tickets or learn about the routes and schedules. Boats usually run from 10am–10pm, and you can always check their status online in case of weather or special events.
💡 Helpful Tip: Grab a drink and sit by the water before your ride—it’s a vibe! And if you’re staying nearby at Sunrise Beach Getaway (Unit 907), this stop is literally right...
Read moreI am basing my review on the Water Taxi overall, as the total experience, not just the one stop. My husband didn't really want to do it, but I thought that the experience sounded exciting since we could hop-on/hop-off at any of the stops. As someone that gets high anxiety driving in new towns, this sounded like a great way of exploring without me having to deal with traffic & getting lost. We loved seeing all of the yachts & million plus homes. We had fun visiting Las Olas Blvd. We had to make it back to the park before it closed, or we would probably have explored more stops. Chuck was HILARIOUS! He was one of the boat captains. He reminded me of The Dude (IYKYK). Sandy was on another boat, & she was the one telling the stories. She was GREAT, too. Highly recommend doing an all day pass or a multi day pass if you...
Read moreIt was a dark and stormy night. The silhouette of Water Taxi Stop #8 loomed in front of me, tall and imposing against the lightning-illuminated sky. Squinting in the driving rain, I scanned the horizon desperately looking for the water taxi, barely making out a distant glimmer shining through the haze of driving rain splashing off the intracoastal waterway. A deafening thunderclap echoed in my ear and shook my soaking wet body. In my right hand, the briefcase full of cash weighed like an anchor, pulling me closer to the waters edge and the dark depths below. But I digress. This is a great water taxi stop. I...
