I’m very disappointed to write this review, because overall the people are pleasant and I have had other good experiences, but my latest experience was noteworthy.
I was a pedicure walk-in a couple nights ago. I got there an hour before closing, and it was fairly busy, so I was prepared to come back another day if they didn’t have time to get to me. They assured me they had time for me, took my order, showed me to a chair, then left me there for 20 minutes. By the time someone was available to attend to me, she had to rush through my pedicure. She was fairly thorough, and did an okay job, but she was clearly rushing. I have a couple of bad callouses on my heels, and one weird toenail that were not addressed. She finished up my pedicure right at closing, so I was rushed out with wet nails.
The big issue is that when I went to pay, they wanted to charge me for the $41 pedicure, when I had requested the $36 one. If I had wanted the more expensive one I would have been frustrated since it was so rushed. So even though they theoretically gave me the more expensive one, I was only willing to pay for what I asked for. They were polite, but not happy about my insistence that I pay the lower price. They asked if I wanted to tip, and I’m too polite to not, so I agreed to $6, for a total of $42. I just checked my card, and it was charged for $50! I get that that’s just a few dollars, but it’s a matter of principle. I only indulge in a professional pedicure a few times a year, so when I get one it’s a treat that I save for.
I’m so saddened and disappointed in VP. I will...
Read moreThere are a lot of nail options and I will just stick with the Onyx Nail Bar by TCU.
I visited this salon 6 or 7 years ago and wasn't greatly satisfied but decided to try it again. It was worse! The professionalism is greatly lacking.
I was getting a simple deluxe manicure and she was getting a full set. First, there was nothing about this manicure that was "deluxe- they did use the wax bags and lotion but I was left with clumps of lotion on my arms, my arms completely oily and pieces of cuticles sticking up. The paint job alone was atrocious. It had ridges, nails filed crooked, you could see natural nail on the sides by a lot and the painted portion by the cuticle was crooked as well.
My friend waited the 10 mins to get me seated (they did not sit us together) and then by the time I was done she still hadn't started. Nothing was communicated to us at all on when someone would be with us, how long, no drink offered, nothing.
The worst part, there was an issue with a couple and not being able to afford. While 1 was trying to leave to go get money, they completely embarrassed them by shouting and yelling. Everyone stopped working to continue to yell.
There is a way to handle these things professionally and discreetly. If at the very least to be a kind human being but additionally to provide good customer service. That is what keeps people coming back.
Unfortunately, this was a bad experience that would definitely keep me from returning and also provide me enough reasons to advise people not...
Read moreI was told to choose a color from the color samples. After Choosing my color he began to apply the gel paint and I immediately noticed it didn't look like the same color I chose. He stated stated that maybe it would change once it dried under the gel light. After my nails were finished I noticed they were hot pink instead of a coral color that I had chosen and I was not happy with the way they looked as pink does not look good on me. I went and found the color I chose and saw that it did not match at all and then he divulges to me that a shipment that came in isn't matching their color palates. If he knew this, why didn't he stop immediately after the 1st nail he painted when I had said something? He offered to redo my nails for free right there but I did not have the time to do that. So instead of just letting me come back within A-day or two to do it, he refused to help me and they refused to give me any compensation except for a $5 gift certificate for the next time I come in, which the paint is $25, If you know that your colors are not matching what people are choosing why would you tell them to choose it and then force them to walk out the door with it or not give them compensation that's adequate? I didn't care about the money I cared more about my time period if he would have just let me come back the next day it would have worked out...
