Hobby Lobby — Local services in Greeley

I made this report on Yelp but I am so disgusted in the actions of this store and its employees I had to make another report here. This store and their workers should be ashamed of themselves! My daughter and three of her friends walked in this store to buy decorations for her new car as well as get matching bracelets. When they were profiled and discriminated against for being teens in a store. Employees were following these KIDS around and one claimed "the cops were on their way." My daughter heard this so her and her friends did the appropriate thing and put everything back to not cause a scene and left. But they were stopped at the entrance with four employees yelling at them saying they were banned from the stores and yelling false accusations. My daughter and her friends had all their items in their hands at all times and were not doing anything to give "suspicious activity." Each one of these kids had either cards, cash, or apple pay and were ready to pay but were not even given the chance. WHICH SECURITY FOOTAGE WOULD SHOW THIS! I've heard from another mother that called the store and she gave a lengthy complaint to a manager. When she called, the manger said the only reason they banned our children from the store was because they were teens in a group. They had no actual proof or evidence of stealing and they only profiled them based on their age. If you are a teen it seems that if you enter this store you get the police called just cause of your age/look. The manager then followed that with saying that these kids were unbanned but they could not come as a group because apparently every kid that comes in as a group is stealing. Which is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Whoever these employees were should be disappointed in themselves and should be fired for being incompetent. From asking these kids myself I found that this whole thing may have started because one of the horrid workers at this store was around with a coworker saying they “had not been working and doing their job.” One of my daughters friends had heard this and made a comment about what that worker had said. I assume then that worker had overheard my daughters group and got upset, then decided to be unprofessional by accusing them of stealing. I say this because then that worker who was NOT doing their job was one of the employees bantering these kids. I’m working on finding out this workers name but when I do expect another formal complaint. Do not come to this store! Do not let your kids come...

I have never felt so unwelcome. Wanted to do an exchange. Cashier wasn't familiar with the process. Called over manager. The manager rudely told us to go get what I wanted. Walked to the area where the item was. The manager followed us to the same area looking for the item that we were exchanging. We walked back to the front to the exchange and the manager was talking trash about us saying we were standing in her way and wouldn't move. We did the exchange and wanted to shop more. We started walking around when my daughter stepped away to the jewelry. Within seconds the manager call for security scan in jewelry. My daughter was literally the only one in jewelry. We didn't think much of it until we went to another area and security scan was called again. And again and again. We had 5 employees following us at all times. Not one of them asked if we were doing OK. They just starred at us. We are a good family with morals. I know my daughter would never shoplift nor would I. I called the manager and told her how uncomfortable it was. She told me I didn't know what was going on because they stopped a shoplifter that was at the registers when we were. There was nobody else checking out but us. She ended the call by staying "sorry you feel that way" and hung up. Meaning sorry I felt uncomfortable. The lady was certainly my most unprofessional manager I have ever encountered. I worked retail for 10 years and would have never treated a customer like She treated us. I will never return to the greeley...

I like everything that the store has to offer!! Great selection of products! The problem is the staff!!! Particulary the Managment! Ive been in the store several times in the past month for crafting supplies and every time I went in it was within an hour of the store closing due to my work schedule. While waiting in line to pay for my items i watched the Managment (the first 2 times it was a older overweight woman with glasses and the last time was also an older woman with long brown hair) glare at customers and speak quietly but very obviously to other employees about getting the customers out out of the store as soon as possible. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, with it being the holiday season, and thought maybe the managers were tired and over worked, but for this to happen 4 times in a row.....there's no excuse! If you hate your job that bad, maybe its time for you to find a new job outside of the customer service industry! For these reasons, i will NOT return to any Hobby lobby stores. Even though the prices are a little bit higher at Michael's, i will be taking my business there. I would rather pay a little more and have a comfortable shopping experience than be glared at and talked about by old ladies that need...
