First experience of Popeye's (we're Brits on vacation), it was unimaginably horrendous from start to finish. I would rather pluck out my own eyeballs than go back to this place.
We walked in and joined a line of four people and patiently waited for the circus to begin. I could see four guys at the back cooking and passing food through to the front, a guy taking orders and what I assume was the manager bagging up the orders. Fine, looks like an efficient and effective set up. WRONG!
Cashier guy also doubles as the chicken dispenser, so he's only taking orders at a rate of approximately one per decade leaving everyone in the line clearly dumbfounded.
Manager is assembling orders seemingly at random because all four orders in front of us that we saw her hand out came straight back due to incorrect or missing items. The manager is calling out the same order number multiple times, I can only assume she had run out of fingers and toes to count on
While chicken dispenser and manager are juggling items and swapping people's orders around, the cooks at the back with nothing to do come over to watch the chaos instead of something useful like taking orders.
We eventually made it to the counter to order, we ordered a $10 bigger box with chicken tenders and a medium soda from the manager because the chicken dispenser guy had to step away to re-evaluate his life choices.
Success! The manager called our number and we had a quick look at the goods. Looked like tenders and the correct sides so my girlfriend sat down with the bag and I stayed to ask the manager for the soda that we'd orderes. In a flash she shot out of the side door and into the seating area, I promise only Usain bolt could have moved faster. The manager went to my girlfriend, snatched the bag of food and said "gave you the wrong food" before disappearing back into the kitchen.
When she came back I told her I had ordered a soda, she grudgingly handed me a cup and also what was allegedly now the correct order. We sat down, having entered the restaurant almost 40 minutes beforehand, and unpacked the bag. I think you can predict that the food was still wrong, but when we picked up the chicken it was a soft, slimy and greasy mess. We left everything there and headed for the exit, just in time to see the guy who was behind us in line taking his order back to...
Read moreThis place is the worst. We walked in and weren't greeted by anyone. There was a lady ordering before us and the cashier didn't seem to be paying attention to what the lady was asking for. The lady kept repeating what she wanted and then the manager getting the food for her wasn't listening either. We originally thought the lady was just being very picky but after we were finished ordering we knew that wasn't so.
My daughter handed the cashier our coupon and she had no clue how to ring it up. Then we were trying to order an extra 3 pieces of tenders and she kept adding a meal to our order. She didn't know how to fix it or ring it up properly. The manager finally came over and voided it off but couldn't figure out how to ring up just the extra 3 piece tenders either so she rang it up as a snack with a biscuit. Ok so now we had to ask for our drink cups. I made my daughter go get our drinks because she was going to lose it still dealing with the cashier. So now I'm waiting for the food and the manager is just putting sides on our tray. The cashier never asked us what sides we wanted so I had to tell the manager what we wanted.
I just don't get it. That was the most stressful experience I've had in a long time. My daughter and I are in customer service and have been for a very long time. We would NEVER treat our customers the way they treat theirs. She never looked up. She didn't smile. She barely talked to us at all. She needed to ask us questions so they can get the order right. There's no sense of urgency from any one of the employees.
The place wasn't busy but the dining room looked like there had been a mob in there. Trash on the floor and the tables. I didn't even want to see how the bathrooms might look.
On the up side... the food was pretty good. Warm, not hot, but tasted good.
If you're the franchise owner of this place, you might want to look for better help or get out while...
Read moreThis location needs to step up with EVERYTHING! Customer service tends to be slow, very little in the way of smiling or "a pleasant" communication with clients. Staff is very very slow!!
They always seem to be out of most of their side items. The store never seems to be fully clean as far as tables go and it doesn't matter if we go for lunch or for dinner they are always in a state of chaos. Every time I have asked for sweet tea their tea is unsweet and it's in a sweet tea container. I mean how hard is it to put unsweet in the correct container? Its labled!!
Tonight was the last straw for e and my family. This place had 4 people working: 2 were still new, 1 manager and 1 cook. They had a drive through of 6 cars, and an insude line of 5 people. It took me start (getting in line) to finish 50 minutes to get my food! This is unacceptable. It was a full 30 minutes before the manager or owner, not sure which, came out from the back and decided he would help. Not once did he address clients, dictate to staff or actually recognise there was an issue. They were out of mild white meat, Mac n cheese, coleslaw, and red beans. They had no strips. I watched as 3 orders inside were messed up and I find out as we are driving away our sweet tea was unsweet.
The girls tried to do the best they could to wear new the other one was a manager and the fourth one was person's running chicken. This location severely needs corporate intervention for it's going to fail. It's sad because this location is highly trafficked in general because of where it's located it has excellent potential because of that fact however it's consistent standard amongst the employees is too smart, around, want make customers the priority, not prep what needs to be cracked and there's going to be a problem that's going to be a long-term problem in the company is going to suffer as...
