Nuts Factory — Local services in Hoboken

I usually avoid leaving negative reviews, but I feel this experience at Nuts Factory in Hoboken needs to be addressed. My visit to the shop left me quite disappointed, though not for the reasons you might expect.

We arrived at the store at around 8:40 PM, well before their posted closing time of 9 PM. Just moments before we entered, we saw two white men go in ahead of us. As we stepped inside, the woman working there pointed at us and rudely asked us to leave. While we were taken aback by her behavior, we initially thought she might be overworked or simply closing the shop early.

However, things took an unexpected turn when the same two men decided to leave after overhearing the conversation. The woman, instead of asking them to leave as well, gently told them they could stay—"only they need to leave," referring to us. This moment of PREFERENTIAL treatment spoke volumes.

While this treatment was disappointing, I’m actually grateful it happened. We walked two doors down to Jun’s Macaron Gelato and ended up trying their incredible chocolate mousse. It was a much better experience, and I’d recommend Jun’s over Nuts...

I used to come to this location multiple times a week just for the Dubai Chocolate Strawberries, but after being rejected multiple times, I won’t be coming here again. One night, I arrived at 8:32 PM, and they refused to serve me, claiming they stop serving at 8:30 PM. Another time, I came at 8:22 PM, only to be told they stop serving at 8 PM—even though they close at 9 PM. I’ve been to Nuts Factory several times, but this last visit was truly disgusting. In the pistachio section, I found insects mixed in with the products — something completely unacceptable for a place that sells food. I wanted to believe it was just a one-time issue, but it looked far too unhygienic to ignore. I took photos as proof and will be sharing them on their social media so people can see what’s really happening. A store that handles food should never operate under these conditions.
